***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

so I have a dilemma. I bought myself tantive 4 to keep the kids busy next week, however my wife has bought me it too. I'm tempted to just return mine (smyths so looks quite straight forward), but looking at the price of what the 2001 version is selling for is making my wonder about stockpiling it. Im not one for normally making a profit but I just wondered what people thoughts were, is it likely that modern models will go up by a factor of 10 like the older ones? I realise it would just be a guess as nobody knows what will happen.

After finding some early Speed Champion models in a box, I’ve only gone and ordered the Speed Champions Porsche 930 and Audi S1. And the Harley Davidson. I think I have a problem...

Just keep it and put it away. Who knows what will happen in 20 years..

One thing I totally love is the way they've incorporated the Buwizz "style" 2.4 Ghz Bluetooth battery control box into the roofline.

Controlled by a smart phone or the included remote control box. This thing goes like stink.

Lego have a bit of catching up to do in the power function stakes I reckon.

So it works as a decent remote control car too, wow.

does it have suspension, engine, gearbox steering and all that sort of thing too?

I've just been checking online, the 10019 from 2001 goes for ~£1000, 10198 from 2009 goes for about £350, however the piece count of the one i've got (75244) is more like the earlier model. For £180 i'm going to keep it. Any tips on how to keep it pristine in a dry loft, box in a box?

Suspension yes , steering wheel yes, engine no gearbox no. It has 2 speeds - normal is quite quick and fast is well, fast (you really need to be outdoors to use that mode , unless you live in a mansion)

Aha! Another Mould King fan.

I bought and built this one just before the 30% virus price hike happened and have to say that it's been the best thing I've ever laid fingers on.

Bruno Jensen is a genius designer and Mould King have taken it further. I like Mould King better than Lego.

Where do I get one of these :D

Also. He said Dihedral doors. I quite like that word. Not Lambo. Not Butterfly. Not Scissor.

Dihedral doors.

The MP4 above has working Dihedral doors - not powered but the ingenuity behind the way they are built out is quite astounding.

Well it is to me anyway.

Bruno, Bruno...

so this lockdown has got me going up the walls... I've not touched Lego since being a kid, but I've had my eye on the Lego Discovery for a while, so I've got that on order...

Now, I'm looking at these Chinese models and my noobishness comes through. I was looking on Lepinworld, but now Boge mentioned YWOBB - is that site better?

for this MP4:
YWOBB: https://www.yourwobb.com/collections/pirates-series/products/mould-king-13067-rc-icarus
Lepin: https://lepinworld.com/shop/lepin-technician/mouldking-13067-icarus-supercar-moc-4562/
where does it say it comes with motors? some of the Lepinworld listings say the motors are an option, but doesn't seem to list them - so, I'm a little lost.

Also, there seems to be praise for Mould-King, what about Qizhile/GeyserBricks? I saw this and I love the old GT40:
https://lepinworld.com/shop/lepin-t...ord-gt40-mk-i-1967-moc-33807-by-geyserbricks/
I can't see this on YWOBB - or any listings for that make, so is it sub-par?

I can recommend both YWOBB and jeremywhatsup.com. Both are normally cheaper than ordering from Aliexpress and have a good reputation.

Quality wise MouldKing seems to be the current fav for a lot of people, they source their bricks from https://gobricks.cn/

Regarding that GT40 set I'm assuming its not on YWOBB yet as currently pre-sell and not available until May.

And thats it finished, just need to add the electric motor. First time building a Technics set since I was probably 12, loved it, need something else to build now haha

Oh gosh going down the rabbit hole now, very tempted by their version of the Bugatti Chiron https://www.yourwobb.com/collection...b-c-the-bugatti-chiron?variant=12321193132096

Can we please stop filling this thread with Lepin & other crappy products? This is a thread for Lego, not Chinese knock-off sets.
