I want it too but hate the fact that it is £95 to get the gift...

EDIT - Bought a couple of cheap sets for my nieces to top it up.

@Raymond Lin Wow, my 4 year old is gonna love that, he's non stop playing with Lego atm. Right now he constantly builds, dismantles and rebuilds the mario sets, I often wake to find my tablet missing, he's got it in his room with the lego app open and building something.

That's always the case; they must do it on purpose.
Like the Porsche GWP needed a purchase of €150, but the Porsche itself cost €149

Finished saturn 5 and my 4 year old son loves it along with the "minimen" -his words:p. Considering I finished it about 6.30, he's managed to separate it half a dozen times and keeps breaking bits off it:D. I don't mind though.

I cannot honestly see why anyone would want the Adidas Trainer set.... i mean its a shoe made of bricks, i don't get the appeal at all.

As opposed to cars made of bricks, piano made of bricks, typewriter made of bricks, Star Wars characters made of bricks or anything made of bricks.

Or Lego in general?

I don't much see the point of any Lego static display models, to be honest. They just gather dust.

Most of the fun was building in technics for me- trucks, robots, tracked vehicles, guns and so on.

A big pile of technics parts, some power functions motors and a remote control is all you need.

Sariel's website is a good place to see what's possible with Lego.

There are many markets Lego taps into.

There is the toys for kids.
There is the Mechanical Side.
There is the Display side.

Fun for everyone.

Ugh. Lego Friends are taking over my house at the moment. I tried to get the kids to build a bulldozer, but they ain't interested.

*rolls eyes*
I just bought my daughter a lego friend's set, I don't mind as it keeps her busy and she does really enjoy it. My gripe with some of the smaller models is they don't have many parts holding them together so she doesn't want to play with them as they fall apart. I've ordered some small bases I can use to hopefully alleviate the problem.

I've had my Saturn since launch and I'm really disappointed at the yellowing that's affected it :( Almost 90% of the outside is yellowed now (with a few bricks that aren't, so it really stands out!)

Agree, those Lego Friends sets are rather fragile. They're also tall and unstable. I will take you advice on getting some of the mats and fix them together- cheers for that.

Me and the boy used to build technics back in the old days. That was much more fun!

I've ordered some 8x14 or 8x12 plates to resolve it. I guess it's just the bigger models tend to have multiple layers and/or use technics. On an aside, my wife's build of the hp Castle is coming along nicely, but the tower doesn't seem overly stable. Wonder if they've made it flex so you don't destroy where it's attached. To the guy above, does your saturn sit in the sun?
