***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I don’t think you can be too hard on the The Big Bang set, it is very much a 1st generation of this concept.

The designers have massively iterated on the concept with the two friends sets and the general design elements are much better (e.g. the film set lights etc) and pushed a more adult focussed design. But none of these would have happened if it wasn’t for the huge success of the Big Bang set.

Yes, I know that...but it is STILL small and underwhelming, even when it first came out. Hence I never bought it.

Maybe they will refresh it, Lego have a habit of revisiting popular sets point in case the new camper van.

The game now is to guess which other tv shows are going to get the treatment, I’d like to see a fresh Prince set!

Saw a Lego ideas set that I really would love to be picked for a set.

It’s Mr Miyagi’s house and garden from Karate Kid. Looks a potentially cracking set.

Cheer’s Bar
Seinfeld’s Diner
I want to say Fraser’s house but they only have 4 main characters
Home Improvement
Everybody Loves Raymond

but we are digging quite deep and very niche into shows that most people outside the US never watched.

One licence that would make me buy loads is if they partner with Studio Ghibli, can you imagine a massive Laputa or Howl’s Moving Castle?

For massive appeal you are into stuff like sex and the city I guess but I don’t think they had the iconic sets/locations. A set of Star Trek bridge scenes would sell by the container load but I can’t see that happening.

Speaking as someone who watched Sex and the City and have the DVD Boxset…I wouldn’t buy that Lego set lol. That show never had an iconic set, it split quite evenly between the characters. Perhaps the front steps of her building? Or the scene when they are cup cake outside Magnolia Bakery?

But I doubt that will sell many.

Absolutely loved Home Improvement. Tool Time set, or Tim's house with working integrated vacuum *growling laugh or however you would describe it* and garage with British car in there and a hotrod with a flat head. :D

Edit: And fence with Wilson forehead.

I’ve only got Central Perk and I’m going to keep it that way. If I start buying more I’m going to have to buy all of them.

That’s why I don’t have any Buildings. I’d Bankrupt myself buying every single model.

Thankfully the Simpson’s only had the Kwik-E-Mart and the house :o

Well not as a consequence of this thread but I may have an undiagnosed Lego addiction now. Took the kids on a day out between lockdowns and bought them some Lego Harry Potter Books that open up into classrooms. Now I've been really impressed with the kits and bought the rest of the books. But that has also lead to me buying all 4 sections of Hogwarts squirrelled away as future presents, for the kids I might add. Plus some of the previous years advent calendars to use this Chrimbo. I may be on a dangerous path to becoming a collector hoarder :-(
