***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Looks sweet. Are those Chinese sets or stuff you have built from pick a brick style?

A mix. The early three are Chinese copies, the Saturn I bought bricks through bricklink and a MOC instruction set.

I have a Chinese set Soyuz as well, and I've got Lego bricks coming to build a SpaceX Falcon 9.

The technic rover is now live on Lego.com. Day 1 for me that one is.

Nice :)

So the new 89/92' Minifig Scale Batcave is out soon.

The batmobile included looks great. The batwing is launching in a separate set @£35

That batmobile doesn't look that different from the one a couple of years ago apart from being double the price.
The one a couple of years ago was a GWP exclusive that came out with the big 1989 bag mobile.

It was more than a couple of years, perhaps 4 at this point! I have it somewhere in my collection.

If you mean the Batmobile from the 76119 Pursuit of The Joker set which is in the below pic, then that is very different to either the upcoming 76224 89' Batmobile or the 2019 GWP 40433 89' Batmobile; although clearly still Batmobile shaped. 76119 sold for £15-£20ish most of the time but since discontinued that's been fetching £30-£50.

The 40433 89' Batmobile is much closer to the new one and given it has been selling from £110-£160 since almost its release, the new one is clearly priced that bit higher to reflect demand and aftermarket pricing etc.

The new 76265 89' Batwing is also notably different to the 76120 Batwing (Riddler Heist version also in below pic); although again both look like a Batwing as you'd expect.

The 1989 big batwing and batmobile are the only ones I have. Won't be getting that batcave. Looks so ugly!

76119 is the one I meant. I see its 3/4s of the part coun but I thought the rrp was only about 20-25. I still think it looks similar.

I don't think it's similar looking at all. Apart from it being black the shape is pretty different.

They both look like a batmobile though :p . Double the price is taking the mick though.

Doesn't look like the '89 though.

I sold my 40433 89' earlier in the year once the rumours of these upcoming sets landed and the values were holding.

This new set definately has the 89' Batmobile collector tax pushing up prices. It will be on sale for £30 soon enough. When you compare 76119 in-hand it is very different.

Not as bad as the new star wars diorama sets though.

August is going to be an expensive month. There is still the rumoured Classic Pirates Eldorado Fortress due too.

New Spider-Man final battle looks good, a chance to get some classic figures

Lego related post, we had a few days at legoland and Chessington last week and I was looking at the price of the models in the shop  . Can't believe anyone pays that much, imo if you've paid to get in legoland the models should be cheaper than online.

Why should they be cheaper? It's still being sold in a retail store. Lego charge the same in their stores and online.

If you want them cheaper then 3rd party stores and sites are the only ways to get decent discounts.

A job you is worth spending money on if you enjoy it.

The ‘excitable child’ effect is very real.

Why? You're paying for the theme park and it's rides etc, not for a discount on merch

Sorry but 'merch' triggers me  . I just can't imagine anyone buying a model that's not a cheapness from their as its about 1/3 more expensive. I'm sure they had the ferrari for 400 and amazon do it for 300 for instance. Weirdly despite it being half term I didn't think they park itself was that busy.

Oh dear. I appear to have bought a Le Mans race car to build this weekend while the race is on.

I still have a Defender sitting unopened and need to finish the last bag of the McLaren too.
