***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Built another set for my desk at work over the weekend. Kept with the farming / construction theme.

Also dug my box of lego out from the parents house as they are moving soon. Got the Black Monarchs castle set in there so downloaded the instructions / parts list and going to try to rebuild it after 35 years!

Might go for the alternate set as the instructions are in a modern style. Forgot how bad the old instructions were! Like spot the difference!

01 Aug release day today with quite a lot of new sets out inc the McLaren P1 and GWP

The mini micro scale space rocket GWP is back for over £180 spends.

Couple of the minifig licensed sets seem to be Lego store only like the Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer and Thor vs Surtur which is annoying if you tend to Smyths/Argos/John Lewis.

That Classic Space GWP looks really cool but I can't justify a purchase right now. I'm saving my last big purchase for the Harry Potter GWP in September.

Finally got round to mounting the delorean (on wall mounts I designed and printed).

Not too shabby I think.

Saw it at the Lego store today it looks amazing I was incredibly tempted!
Argh. I caved in and just bought the Jaws set. Avoid Lego like the plague as I already collect enough expensive bits of plastic (Scalextric) :p

Always rued not buying The Simpsons house years ago. The UCS Slave One was another, they must fetch a few quid now.

That McLaren P1 looks amazing.

Lego is so stupidly expensive these days, almost £400 for it. Then I remembered I’ve spent similar figures on the Sian, Chiron, GT3, Daytona etc

Arrrg, feel obligated to pull the trigger and buy it!

The Chiron was £320 but it was released in 2018, the others were £390 according to brickset. That doesn’t rule out that one one may have price increase when Lego upped their prices a couple of years ago.

If you really want to get upset, the original 911 car is this series launched at £260 and I think I paid about £140 for mine. I’ve not bought one since.

Edit: I expect it was the Sian that had a price pump as it came out in 2020

Tbf I got the Chiron before the rise and I've only seen the Sian and Ferrari around 300 that's why I assumed that was RRP. Should have checked the Lego site as they don't normally discount :p .
