***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

I noticed there as been a surge in interest in lego. Does anyone know why?

I noticed one of the people I follow setup a logo focused youtube channel and it's out performing his other channels.

Theres been a growing surge in it for a few years now probably about a decade or so ago. Lego was close to going bust but with the help of a few TV shows the interest just grew and grew and grew and leading up to COVID it exploded and hasn’t looked back.

It's very annoying. It's been about 12 years, I guess, and growing for more big collector sets now. The batman tumbler set was when I noticed it- that one sold out, which was pretty unusual.

You used to be able to pick up old technics sets pretty cheaply on ebay, but those days are long gone.

Here is the channel I mentioned in my post. Some of you might be interested;

I blame it on many people no go out much these days in the evening/nights so they need something to do

Or at least where i live as i sometimes go for a walk through my town in the evening/nights and many times it like a ghost town these days :(:(:(

Many people cannot afford to go out much these days with the high prices of everything :mad:
and then add people also don't go out much due to social media like facebook + youtube + internet browsing + online shopping etc

Took delivery of the some copies of the out of production y-wing and snow speeder (minifig play sized ones) for my son's collection, as I have given up hope of a decent -rerelease anytime soon.

I think it's only available at Lego official stores, it's one of their exclusives. Luckily I found it for 20% off at a local certified Lego store.

Went to my local store on Sunday to see if they had it on a BF deal

But had no Luck with it being on a BF deal so i left it as am really more after the P1 car and don't really want to spend out for both cars this close to christmas

I’ve got a lot of Lego that my son wants to get rid of as he’s now more interested in beer and young women.
Most of it is technic and would say the vast majority cost anything between £50 and £200. There must be well over £1000 spent when new and there’s a lot.
Where would be the best place to shift this on? eBay?
