** The Official OcUK Mechanical Keyboard Thread **

The ducky is incredibly bright! I'm using it on the lowest brightness at the moment.

Apologies for the video but I only have my galaxy S to record on...

Note in the video the colour doesn't seem very blue. The blue is much deeper than what you can see, it is also very crisp (doesn't bleed like it does in the video). Same with the red keys.

edit:

I have the keycaps for

which I may put on.

What keyboard is everyone getting ?

Well, after going round and round and round and nearly buying a Choc Mini, I am back to nearly ordering a UK Filco Majestouch-2, NKR, Tactile Action Keyboard, again.

This is mainly for the sole reason I really want a UK layout. Not bothered about a numberpad but for £6 more, I may as well. Ideally I want it backlit, but there is nothing around and nothing on the horizon, unless I have missed something? Brown switches are what I have set my mind on.

£120 is a lot of money though!

For a keyboard is CERTAINLY is.

I was the same, having used the US layout with International US profile for a few hours now there is a difference but it is not annoying like I thought it would be. Just a matter of getting used to it. Only things that stick out are:

Miss the enter key occasionally due to it being smaller
Have to press alt+shift+4 for the £
Hash and @ keys moved shift+2 or 3
shift+apostrophe then next letter or space for "
apostrophe then next letter or space for '(apostrophe)

Because I am a freak who is left-handed but still uses WASD. :p

lol, so am I

But anyway, seriously, the lack of a numpad is much better simply because there is less space between the mouse and keyboard. It means you can use the mouse closer to the keyboard while using WASD, which is more comfortable, IMO.

By the way I have a Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless and now I couldn't go back to using a full size keyboard (for gaming), or a rubber dome keyboard (for anything). I was forced to buy a mechanical keyboard for work too because I couldn't stand rubber domes :(

Well after much thinking and waiting I finally bite the bullet and bought:

Filco Majestouch-2, NKR with brown switch

Filco Red WASD Keys

Filco Black Key Puller

I think after much looking around the Filco does seem to be the best of the bunch in terms of quality and style.

As it was my birthday yesterday I thought I would treat myself! :D

Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow.

:)

So... I had my pc on last night whilst I was sleeping. All of a sudden I heard this "Quack" noise. From what I can tell my ducky is not supposed to make noises. Am I imagining things?

I think it's a warning that it's about to throw you a bill.

Just got my Tenkeyless, feels nice to type on. Though the keyboard layout is pretty much the same as my G11 I'm making lots of spelling errors when touch typing. Also I need to try and get the angle right.

I'm missing my numpad though, like when I'm pasting in links I normally hit the enter key on the numpad so...
