** The Official OcUK Mechanical Keyboard Thread **

From what I've heard it's personal preference. Nothing more nothing less. :)

Guess it's a BTC Rubber dome. :p

I did look at that (had seen it mentioned a lot in this thread) But it seems to offer less than the qpad for more money?

no back lights
no keyboard rest
no media keys
no usb hub
no audio ports
I'll join the list of people searching for the right keyboard. These mechanical keyboards should last a long time, and they're expensive, so it makes sense to get the right one first time. While the Filco looks good I'd also like a backlight and a few media keys.

well i just snapped and ordered a filco tenkeyless, so much for awaiting the UK ninja lol.

I've decided to get a custom keyset anyways though to waiting for the ninja was starting to seem silly when I have the money (for once)

Hopefully this will be my final KB purchase ever

Can anyone suggest me a mechanical keyboard with redish lighting? so it would match my naga molten edition.

Just ordered a WASD Custom keyboard from the states. Came to the same price as I would have payed for a Filco for the same quality.

Didn't want anything too crazy. I like it simple. :D
I'm going for even more simple I think. All black keys, engraved.

Can you let me know the total you pay when it arrives? I figure'd as you say, it'll be cheaper than buying a Filco over here, but I want to know what the import costs will amount to.

Oh and if you hold on WASD keyboards will be releasing a UK layout board very soon. Was meant to be out this December but looks like we won't see it until January now.
Did they give you a date? They told me "likely next week" about 3 weeks ago :( Been waiting patiently.

Need a silent or extremely quiet gaming mechanical keyboard with a backlit keyboard, pref blue lighting to match my PC setup. Suggestions? Was gonna wait for the razer black widow ultimate stealth but theres no ETA on it at all :S

No idea of an exact date. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Altogether I paid £106 including the additional clip on wrist rest and shipping. From what I've heard from people ordering from WASD to the UK is that they've never had to pay anything extra, as the keyboards never seem get stopped at customs. If you're unlucky and it does get stopped you'll probably have to pay about £20. But I also heard someone saying that keyboards are exempt from tax.

Order straight from Qpad and get a mk-85 with red switches. Blue back lighting and very light and quiet keys. You can only get the red switches for the mk85 straight from qpad though. You could also choose pretty much any switch.. even the noisy blue switches and then just buy some O-ring dampers.

How much do you want to spend? £160 would get you a topre... ;)

Hmmm. If there's no import tax then that's a really good price.

I'd pay a bit extra for something nicer but I really couldn't care less for coloured keys, and I don't seem to need a wrist wrest with my current keyboard so I guess I'll stick with a standard semi-custom.

Yeah that's what I went with the semi custom as it's 10$ cheaper. You can still change the colors of the keys. You can choose 1 color for the whole board then a different color for the wasd and esc keys. I went with the wrist rest and I hate the standard gel wrist rests. I need something more sturdy.
