where can i go to actually try out some mech keyboards? I'm a bit cautious about buying online without trying out the switch first to see if it's worth it
I large PC superstore usually has a few out on display.

But I doubt I'd be allowed to actually try the keyboards out? My experience of the chain I believe we are talking about is fairly limited but I never got the impression they were the type to open something up and let me try it..?
Ok, I'm thinking of getting a mech keyboard. The main game I play is StarCraft 2. I don't care about macro keys, backlighting or media keys, and I prefer tenkeyless so I have more deskspace. What would you guys recommend?
I've done a bit of research and like the look of the Filco Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless UK with brown switches. Would this be a good fit for my needs? I play some FPS occasionally but as I said I mainly play SC2. I do a fair amount of typing mainly posting on forums etc, but I don't do much typing for anything important eg. a job so it's not my priority.
I've been using my Filco Ninja TKL for a couple of days now and I think i'll return it. It feels reasonably good but isn't blowing my mind like I quietly anticipated. If it was half the price I would probably be happy with the purchase, but £120 is a lot for something that doesn't really offer (me) much of an improvement over my existing keyboard. Also, not being a touch typist, I am finding the noise to be excessive.
I'm using a Filco Majestouch-2 full size with brown keys, and now i've gotten used to it it's more than fine for playing shooters with. I'm not a heavy RTS player but the tactile bump should be great for macro in SC2.
I ve got my my Qpad mk80 with cherry mx brown switches, best damn decision ever for typing and gaming real improvement, far less miss clicks etc.............
Which switches does it have?
Browns. I mainly use my PC for gaming and was initally going to try a WASD with reds, but went for the Filco in the end.
After a few more days use, I have decided to stick with the Filco. It's really nice to type and game with, so my only complaint is the noise when I bottom out. I will order some of those o-ring dampeners from WASD that will hopefully take the edge off.
