Need opinions-

Can get the Qpad MK-50 from OCUK (price matched) for £66.82 Inc VAT
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-003-QP&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=2107

Or the Qpad MK-85 from OCUK for £129.98 inc VAT
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-001-QP&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=2107

Any anyone who owns these explain the difference in functionality, and indicate whether it's worth the price difference?

MK-85 has all the bells and whistles (backlight, USB and audio ports, all keys customisable). Backlight is essential for me, but if it isn't for you then the MK-50 looks like a winner. MK-50 is more like a cut down MK-80 (with red switches), with the NKRO via PS2.

Got my replacement spacebar from Zowie, I fitted it (deliberately upside down due to the angled face as I don't like the default whereby it is higher at the front of the key) and haven't had any sticking issues since \o/

Mine started sticking again as I mainly press the left side. But simply reseating the bar it feels as good as new (AFTER the Spacebar replacement)

Can you see any visible difference to the old one?

My first spacebar seemed to be more curved than the replacement. Not entirely sure how. But it appeared to be slightly warped.

O-Rings arrived.

Quick video which I hope helps some people:

Interestingly the Return key with the stabiliser is the quietest key on my board. Must be the stabilisation that helps stop it rattling around on more sources of plastic. 90% of the noise is from the keycap being release and the key returning anyway - not much you can do about that, a core design of the switch.

tl;dr - It's not going to silence your mechanical keyboard.

It will remove the higher pitched CLICK from bottoming out of the keycap plastic on the switch plastic surround. Seeing as it's so cheap with non-'gamer' o-rings (4MM ID x 2.5MM section) I don't see why you would not do it if you want to remove a little of the edge.

good vid thanks, did your keyboard have any pingy keys? and if so does the O-ring stop the ring? cheers.

My right shift is the only slightly pingy key and the O-Ring did not help that.

Oh ok thanks, It's a real bummer cause I bought a filco majestouch ninja a few days back, it's a lovely keyboard but the letter K lets out a ring of about .5 second everytime you hit it, very annoying! I am going to send it back I think.

They will be out soon in the UK, this was a review sample from CM. They should be around £70, but could be cheaper depending on your retailer, i expect them to sell well :)

They do look like a very nice keyboard, I also like your reviews Tweaker, they helped me make mind up on which mechanical keyboards are the better ones!!

I am really loving my filco majestouch 2 tenkeyless, it is a joy to type on!

snap :)

I've just went back to my uni flat for a day and my Logitech G110 feels horrible. It's huge and clunky and I keep pressing the macro keys instead of Ctrl. The keys feel like mush and require way too much force to actuate. I guess I've been forever spoiled now :(

Why would anyone want to silence a keyboard?

The sound of a good mechanical keyboard is easily one of the best things about purchasing one.

Hoping to get a DELL AT101/2W soon, got a bit of work to do with it but at the end of it I should have a wonderful sounding and fully working MK.

Nah, it's the feel. I couldn't care less about the sound in fact I'd rather it were silent. If I wanted sound I would have bought blue switches, but I didn't so I bought browns. Tbh they don't bother me much (and the good outweighs the bad) but I can see why someone would want it a bit quiter.

One of the best things about mechanical keyboards is the loud clicking noises it makes.
