Full sized keyboard for around £80-100 I reckon. I don't really need any fancy things![]()
Blacks/Red for gaming (reds if you are weak/prone to fatigue apparently. I have no issues with my blacks and they are very easy to press over a long period of time).
Blue for typing. Having tried them, you can't "float" over the activation point of the switch and that is a royal pain for gaming unless you smash the keys down and always fully release the key (no one decent will do that).
Brown is OK at both tasks, as are Clear. I'd avoid these to be honest as they aren't great at either task.
To be honest, try them yourself. You can get a keychain sample of each switch for a few quid and people (including me) will always suggest that what they have is perfect.
I do want the 'clicky' sound that the blues give but the red/blacks sound better for everything else. Hmm..
Also have to find a nice keyboard.
It's Gigabyte and frankly the best keyboard I've owned, makes my previous BlackWidow Ultimate feel cheap...I've never heard of the Osmium and I'd steer clear from any brand thats not well-known.
I'm trying to purchase a Noppoo Choc Mini, I'm either stupid (more than likely) or drunk too much to find a reliable seller in the UK? I've read the thread and people seem to be getting hold of them pretty easily so any suggestions on where to purchase one?
I've settled on Reds/Browns and would like a UK layout if at all possible.
eBay. There's plenty of trusted resellers on there.
What is the general opinion on the corsair m60 or 90
Scroll down the picture to the logic chart.
I'd agree with that 100% except Reds are good for RTS and some people just love Blues.
Switches
Linear: MX Red and MX Black. Reds have a light feel to them, and Blacks need a bit extra force to press them. I find the reds are a little lighter than my membrane board, where as the blacks are a little heavier. Best for FPS gaming, but still fine for typing on.
Click: MX Blue. Have a very nice feel, with a noticeable bump before actuation, then a click as they are pressed. Best for typing, but are nice for gaming. They are loud, but are silenced to a click when a dampener is used.
Tactile: MX Brown, no click, and slightly lighter than my membrane board. Have a little bump at actuation that isn't felt when bottoming them, but is when typing. The best all-round key.
The K60 and K90 from Corsair don't have all of the keys with a mechanical switch behind them, but the majority of the keys do. They do have a good name though.
For the Logitech G710+, I believe it looks about 2meters long? in the videos. Hopefully somebody with one might pop up somewhere to answer that![]()
