**** The Official OnePlus 5 Thread ****

Thinking about coming from an s6

Is OP5 going to be more of a sidegrade or an upgrade generally?

I want a bigger screen but this one seems to have a lower resolution, although might not be massively important, i use it to remote control my proper camera and adjust settings, so seeing detail is handy.

No, it will be upgrade overall.

You might not see much improvement in the camera department though.

Not good, wonder if it's just a batch issue? The Inquirer are saying it's more likely a software issue and should be fixed, but wouldn't be happy with the increased cost of the devices. Fortunately my own one is working well, very happy with it coming from iPhone SE.

Had mine since Tuesday and I'm generally very happy with it, my 1st OnePlus :)

Possible battery issue? Charged her fully from my PC overnight on Tuesday whilst I copied my media over and that charge lasted until mid-afternoon yesterday. I wanted to see what the battery was like and, with the usage I gave it, I wasn't disappointed!

I used the supplied Dash charger and cable when I got home and it was unplugged at 7:30 at 100%. I went to the cinema where I don't get any signal, one bar if I'm lucky. Certainly no data. When I left at around 10 the phone was at 81% - I couldn't believe it, it literally hadn't been used?!

A couple of texts, bit of WhatsApp/Telegram and a two minute phone call later and I'm here:

I know it's early days on the battery but I can't carry on like that! I've hardly used it? I'm just about to go out on my bike (Starva etc) and I reckon that'll probably finish it off, in under 24hrs!

Any thoughts?
Definitely linked to having no signal

That's a shame mate, mine is imperceptible enough not to bother me. I'll still keep an eye on the Pixel when it lands.
Know what you mean. I feel like I have the tinest stretch when scrolling with reasonable speed. But I never noticed it before I went looking. Its doesn't like these examples.

People say they are getting the same effect when they lock their orientation on their 3 or 3t, turn the phone upside down and scroll too. Not looking good :/

Yes, the camera is fine just, like the OnePlus 3 camera was fine last year, but they weren't charging £499 for the privilege of using it.

The display isn't any better than what is was the Note 3 back in 2013, the display is mediocre for 2017, it's not very bright, it's not very sharp and it's not power efficient either, but it's OLED so we have to forgive all of these points.

I have a OnePlus 3 and I've used a mixture of Samsung and OnePlus devices over the last five years, I'm not sure what would even be the point of me buying the OnePlus 5, other than the slightly better camera for all intent and purpose you might as well still be using a OnePlus 3.

Mmm.. Sounds like you've had enough of oneplus then. :D. I still would pick it and so many others too.

I know Mate but once you see it you can't unsee (if you know what I mean).

It's not as pronounced as the video but it's definitely there. What with OP sending mixed messages about whether they will fix the issue it's best to send it back.

Besides it's a hardware fault as they've installed the screen upside down. I turned my trap phone 180 degrees and got the same effect.

Glad your OP5 isn't that bad though. The Pixel 2 will be a viable option if it isn't as pricey as the original.

OP won't refund the carbon fibre case and charging cable I bought.

Anyone interested in buying them? Wll put them up on MM

They have both only been used once and are as new...
