Is that only within Apple apps? Doesn't seem to work in Chrome.
I noticed that in Chrome its not available, its why I switched back to Safari, but the Look Up option was in Lion, I use it all the time.
Chrome was always hit and miss for me in Lion with the double three finger tap. I haven't been bothered to start using it much in Mountain Lion as Safari has too many good features to miss out on and now has caught up (nearly) with the speed of Chrome.

I never even realised that you can do a lookup on what a word means by just a 3 finger tap over a word.

Just means when I want to know what someone is talking about it's a press finger click away.
Which one of mine? I think you are getting confused because you first mentioned the hue in reply to someone else's screenshots.
Which btw look perfectly fine on my monitors - his background matches 100% hue and colors of the background on my monitor and fonts are perfectly white.
I'm with you on the font issue, I've unticked font smoothing and everything's looking like it should again.
However, your screens do look like the colour is off a bit:
How does that look to you?
Regular blue in your screenie is more like blue mixed with green, to the point where white letters have emerald hue compared to text on page. Like I was looking at it with sRGB profile applied on a wide gamut monitor. What's your colour profile set to in Display in System Settings?
I've turned off font smoothing too. Makes everything look wrong!
I'm having some issues with mouse acceleration in ML now too. Not sure if it's because i updated my mouse in windows and now it's conflicting in ML or just that I'm getting to the superior mouse acceleration of Windows. I always used to use USB overdrive to stop it in OS X but just switched to a different app as it wasn't working.

Older mac performance
After having reinstalled Snow Leopard after finding Lion to be horribly slow I installed Mountain Lion to try it out.
On my core2duo 2.8ghz/4gb ram/Radeon HD 2600 imac it runs really, really well without the constant beach balling of Lion. Thought i'd post this to help others decide.

at what point during the Dl is it stopping - check the 'purchases section' to get the details?
I had the EXACT same problem - BT business user by any chance?
yep, it was a real headscrtacher until I checked the apple support forums. apparently this is a common problem with people using BT business - what you can do is go to hotspotsheild.com and download their free version - get this installed and connected then try again and let it get past the 150mb mark, disconnect from sheild and continue using your normal connection - sorted it for me
