I'm trying to do a clean install but I'm getting an issue where it says the restore on to my spare external HD doesn't work. Same thing happens when trying to burn to DVD as well, the verify fails. I've tried re-downloading it about 5 times now. Any ideas?

Ive had it for the past week officially as my GF works for Apple, No major changes at all so everyone can stop the Hype....

How is the addition of a whole Notification System not a major change?

The little blue lights that show beneath active apps in the docs seems to have disappeared since upgrading to ML, any idea's folks?

They're on the front edge of the dock below the icon and rather subtle.

Go into System Preferences > Dock > Show indicator lights for open applications

yes. the options tap doesn't light up so it appears a fresh install is required and formatting the SSD using the correct partition

I've just used a program called Lion Diskmaker 2 and it's done the job.

I got the same with my USB stick but proceeded with using it to install because a search on google revealed that it still works.

I upgraded from Lion and I still have the lights.

Same too but if you try a fresh install i getting a missing folder symbol. It upgrades fine though. Maybe it needs to connected to the internet.

hmmm...I did use it for a fresh install and I don't see a missing icon. Which one you talking about?

Lol, there are quite a lot of new features actually, no brainier really.

I'm really pleased with ML, machine feels a bit faster, dictation is brilliant, safari is great and notifications is well integrated. Additional synchronisation with iCloud is also good.

It was released to developers on July 10th - so no one is impressed by you having it a week ago and then writing off any changes as 'Hype'; it just makes you look foolish.

I had this as well, its a problem with Apple's Disk Utility, not the image you downloaded etc. Use any other image burning program and it works fine.
