The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

I love mine too but the black-screen-cycling issue I mentioned a few posts up is irritating, but nothing more so than when I exit a game and it switches the display to 30HZ which I can only fix by powering the monitor off/on, or rebooting. When it does this, there is no option to switch to 60HZ other than doing that.

I had an issue with when I switched the monitor off the resolution would change and screw up all my icons/windows but found if I send the custom scaling mode it fixed the issue, not sure if it could help you.

Hi, I am thinking of buying this monitor, but would like some advice. Would my old graphics card run this monitor I have the HIS HD 6990. The 6990 does have DisplayPort 1.2.
I am not really bothered for gaming at 4K just browsing the net and movies.

Having read this forum post I am really unsure, as this monitor is SST not MST.

Any advice?

I'm running a 6970, which although has dp1.2, only supports a max resolution of 2560x1600 over dp for SST monitors. I can get 4k on the desktop at 30Hz, which is ok for browsing and movies, but there's a definite jerkiness to the mouse and it's not as pretty as 60Hz.

I wonder if someone can advise if my BDM4065UC is faulty? Mainly when it comes out of standby, the desktop appears and soon after the screen cycles between the desktop and black screen for about 5 seconds or so. It always does this upon resume from standby, but I have noticed it doing it also on occasion 10-15 minutes after boot and during normal usage. I logged a call with Philips, who just advised to check drivers etc, but I could replace the screen but its pointless if this is another monitor trait.

Mine does this occasionally. I've not been able to (nor tried very hard to) replicate it reliably, I'm just putting up with it and hoping it's a driver issue that will disappear in future.

So did anyone buy the Ergotron LX stand? Which version? Thanks!

I'm using the Ergotron LX Desk Mount with the long/tall pole on mine with a Brateck VESA adapter plate (200mm x 200mm).

I'm supposed to receive my third monitor today, each one has developed dead/stuck pixels and the first had some bad (but intermittent) vertical banding issues.

Well Phillips have agreed to RMA my screen (issues with black-screen cycling not just on boot, but also during use/switching to 30HZ with no ability to go to 60 other than to powercycle the screen - it would appear the screen gets stuck on DP1.1) however are only offering a refurbished replacement. I have very little confidence that the replacement I get will not have these issues though, but we shall see.

So it seems like the long pole version is required? Is the monitor at the top of the pole? (sorry to hear about your bad luck!)

I've been using one for years. I got the wall mount version and it has no issue holding the Philips (you'll need to buy a vesa 200 adaptor plate).

Cheers Roger :)

I have purchased a different display port cable, and so far (touch wood) I have not had any of these issues reoccurring :)

Custom scaling mode??? can you explain as i have this issue too.

With windows 10, there's probably a shorter way to get to it but I know this way

All settings\System\Display\Advanced display settings\Advanced sizing of text and other items\

In the text of "change size of items" click "set a custom scaling level" and select the level you want

Or just found that if you go to explorer and paste this, it will take you straight to it :)

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display

Picked up one of these for less than £370 and i'm impressed.
Playing Elite Dangerous is amazing, ok im still in Korea so I'm using my laptop with a 980m so i have to tweak the settings to get reasonable frames but by the time i get back to the UK later this year i'll be building a new desktop for my main gaming rig.

Interesting thing is how the hell i'm going to get the thing back to the UK when i finish up here.

Mine just died on me!!!! One minute I was watch the Obama speech, the next min its fizzled from bottom right corner to top left and the screen went blank. Led light still comes on and back light but no colour just a lit up black screen.

Son of a gun I'm gonna have to return it.
