The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

I will test this later when I have a chance and report back to you. I would not go from memory and have you ordering a very expensive monitor on my hearsay.

It's semi gloss so yes. I can see myself in the screen when it's black, at night with spots in the ceiling on.

Yeah, the coating on this is a nice compromise.

Not too reflective that it's like looking in a mirror, and not heavy enough that it feels like it dulls the image.

I agree, the reflection did not stand out to me in a "bloody hell" kind of way. I can understand why those who do photo work will require no reflection. Hence why I will not commit to say it perfect :)

Thanks guys, hmmm it sounds borderline! lol  :), I will try and find some videos on it I think in reviews, see what I can see? It sounds perfect for my needs otherwise.

It's a hell of a lot of money for me though, but I spend every waking hour on my PC working and work for myself as a videographer/photographer, so I imagine it would be much better than my current setup (2x27 1x30), I find I am always earning for more vertical res to fit stuff on the screen! lol

My other option is get 2 more 30" but even that feels a little limited now.

Finally how thick is the bezel ? Do you find it suitable if I were at some point in time thinking of getting 2 more for 3 setup ?

Well, HDMI is capable of 4k / 30hz (good enough for non-gaming).. I'm still trying to get full res.

Personally can't deal with 4K 30Hz even for non-gaming.

That is what I was limited to with my Macbook initially, due to this being SST, and it was awful.

Thankfully there is a program called SwitchResX which allows custom resolutions. This has allowed me to get 3840x2160 at 50Hz, with the added bonus that it unlocks other resolutions on the Macbook screen, allowing me to select 1920x1200 (or even native without scaling but is a tad small)

I'm stuck on HDMI 1080p til my Mini-DP cable gets here. I'll have to be patient :p

Gotta say though, quite impressed how good it looks at 1080p, and it's eased my mind when it will come to running it when the games get a little too demanding at 4k.

Best of both worlds

Combat squirrel, I'm really not sure you'll like how glossy this screen is. I hate glossy too and this is *just* on the right side of borderline for me so am happy to forgive it. Just depends on how much of a factor it is for you...

HMMMMMMMM what to do,lol

Any more inputs/thoughts from people ?

I remember! DAMN good screen that, missed it so much I went out a few weeks later and got my HP ZR30w, another great screen

Loving this Philips so far, just 1080p will do my nut in until the Mini-DP cable arrives!! My own fault for buying a 295x2 I suppose :p

Doesn't come with a UK power cable or a USB extension cable for the hub. Petty, but I'll probably RMA it for that.

Yes there is gloss on this, if you're used to matt which I was with the Dell 3007wfp you may not be happy, I don't mind it as the lights I normally have on don't show up the gloss.

Definitely is the way to go for screen real estate and using stock scaling in windows.

Well, I couldn't get it working at its native resolution over HDMI with my Radeon card at work, but got the screen home and it works lovely over mini-DisplayPort to my GTX980

Apologies for the bad pic, I'm rocking the 80s Argos Desk until my corner desk arrives
