The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Spit if you're genuinely looking for productivity this or an ultrawide would be better than the 28" one you have.

If you intend to do a lot of fast action gaming then obviously Gsync is more likely to be preferable.

Might have a look at that then, or just buy a small drawer to put it on for movies and single player games (actually this sounds a lot easier than drilling plaster and getting messy)

A 980ti, an equivalent or an even better card would be your best starting point for 4k gaming... IMO ;)

It's a fantastic monitor and pretty much the best value around for this size/spec. If you just want to dip your toe into gaming on this then maybe try a second-hand 290X if you don't mind running medium settings? But if you want to go max or near it then the 980Ti is a great option

4k is VERY VERY punishing on graphics hardware

I've had this monitor for almost 3 months now and I can say it's one of the best things I've ever bought.

There's a moment everyday where I still can't believe how amazing value it is and how beautiful games look on it.

Playing games at 4k with maximum settings on this screen is such a fun and great experience.

The size makes everything incredibly immersive and I haven't noticed any screen tearing or lag with this.

Plus I love being able to run 2/3 Firefox windows & other programs side by side

ok you convinced me im gettting one, thanks very much
might as well get that g carrd as well just had a look at it 3 fans how noisy is it?

I’ve gone through the last 10 pages of this thread and have read bits and pieces about running games at lower settings. As I’ve never had to do it, can someone clarify how it works? Do you run a game in a window at 1080p/1440p (and is it satisfactory), or do you just run the whole monitor at a lower resolution?

How does super-wide appear if you run 21:9? I’ve had two different 1440p 27” monitors so far and both have gone back. Both lacked the wow factor which this screen appears to provide. I’m just wary about being stuck with slideshow gaming now or in a couple of years time (I have a 980ti which won’t be upgraded for a long time).

It does, but its a rather short one. If your pc is next to your monitor, you will be ok, otherwise id order a longer one. Thats what I had to do.

Thanks for the reply, my computer will be less than 1 metre away from the monitor so hopefully that will be close enough.

Will the cable do 4k at 60hz or is it just 30hz?
