You would have to be a grade A idiot not to buy one of these now. £570? What a bargain. I am now 6 months into using this monitor and I still LOVE IT. It's flipping amazing. Every day I use it, and am amazed at it's quality.

How far from this do you all sit?
My desk is only around 50cm deep. I don't think I wanna sit that close to a 40" monitor

Having come from 3x 28" monitors over to this beauty, ive just been blown away!, honestly cannot see me going back to a multi monitor setup after this and those colours........ so pretty...
Why not 3x 40"?
spoffle - I'm guessing probably money
if only dude, if only... think my eyes would melt.. and probably my 980ti too lol
(on an off point, has anyone else had a go at overclocking these beauties?. managed to stretch mine out to 80hz so far without issue but not sure if i dare push it any more)
Haha, true. It's the route I'll be taking in a few months though.
I'm just waiting to see what AMD's got with regards to their Fury, and or an 8GB Fury/X card towards the end of the year, then I decide whether it's that or 980Tis that get my money.
There are a few Fury X crossfire multi monitor reviews out in the internet. They favor AMD over Nvidia when doing multi monitor setups. I'm waiting for the FueyX2 due out this fall.
Waiting for the 8k version of this now so that it has high-dpi retina resolution and perhaps a subtle curve at the edges to make it easier to view the corners of the screen without moving my head, then I'll be all set
I have to say, for my work setup I still have 3x27" WQHD and that has a little place in my heart. For productivity I think I prefer it. Being able to use 'Windows'+'Arrow' key to snap to any of the 6 half screen positions is really useful and I prefer the way it wraps around my field of vision, unlike the Philips.
But at home I simply don't have the desk width for that, so the Philips is great. A bit weirdly, at home I do still find myself using my Macbook more than the Philips on my desktop due to the retina screen for reading and typing. It's just so sharp! It's hard to go back to 109ppi.
For window management I've found https://maxto.net/ incredibly useful on the Philips.
I do get a fair few crashes, but the developer is very responsive to feedback and seems to be on the ball with trying to improve it and they're mainly due to odd 3rd party programs I use.
For the current price of £570 it's definitely time to jump off the fence if you're tight on space but want the biggest screen possible! There's still room for improvement though.
