The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

I decided to sell my 40" Philips as I got a decent price for my one. My plan is to go for a good Freesync or Gsync monitor but having used a 27" for one evening I can absolutely say my new monitor will need to be 32" minimum.

27" looks so tiny and un-immersive it is pathetic for gaming. 144Hz with G-Sync, will matter not a joy, it's a toy. :(

just ordered one of these from a competitor who is also a rainforest :D it arrives today, can't wait to try it out but got work and a driving lesson first :( i'm replacing 2 samsung 22inch s22c300 monitors :), i have a 980ti so should be all good

I found a few dead pixels on mine, as shown in pic below

Long story short, it would have been a major hassle to return to the original retailer, because of how large the item is. So I contacted Philips support and, although it took 2-3 weeks, they replaced with a brand new one. However, worth mentioning that they said they'd only replace with a refurbed unit if it's over a couple of weeks old.

I just want to say, I've had this monitor for over 7 months now, and it's still FANTASTIC. :)

I've had FPS trouble with some recent games at 4K, but if you downscale to 1440p (or even 1080p) it still looks amazing and you can get games to play silky smooth.

Guys my friend wants to buy this monitor today but I can't install mine to check. If I plug in a 1080p media player like Apple TV 3 does the screen upscale it to 4K? Assuming using hdmi. And does it display black borders around the whole video?? He wants to know if it will display exactly like on a 1080p tv. Thanks

not sure if it upscales but i would assume since it doesn't just show in the center that it does. my kodi media player (chromebox running openelec) is 1080p resolution and shows full screen still, not bad quality decrease compared to actual 1080p screens in my opinion.

It's quite big, still getting used to it but also love playing The Crew and Rocket League on it :) not played anything else but it's the weekend soon so i'm sure that will change.

That is just using picture by picture features, I do similar though use the Picture in Picture option for my fire TV, this will scale to full screen o problem.

A number of us(see user WATTS here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18634255&page=60 ) have had to RMA the monitor because of poor(actually very poor) quality control.

As you mention the key thing when dealing with Philips is to get your complaint into them within 14 days from purchase, else you'll end up with a refurb.
