The official Philips BDM4065UC thread

Just got a call from UPS. They deliverying me a new monitor tomorrow. But have the wrong address..
They know they have the wrong address but wont change the address untill its had a delivery attempt. Then they can change the address.... So that makes sense.

its arrived.

must be a new version, NO problems at all.
they even fixed that whole plastic under the bezel thing.

yup same here, couldnt get 60hz working but sorted now, ripped a copy of the driver disk on my wifes pc as I dont have a dvd drive lol. installed the drivers and all good :)

No banding, no dead pixels, no dust under the screen. couldnt be happier!

i found a simple speck of dust.... top right of the screen. cant see it untill i look for it. wasnt there when i first started the monitor, seems to have appeared randomly.

oh well, cant complain as i only paid £420 for the first one and they just sent me a brand new one :O

I'm just trying to figure out the best way to set mine up (as in if it should be my only monitor or not), the problem I'm having is that on my corner desk it sits too close to the walls to have a monitor next to it, and if I pull it forward I lose too much desk and it's too close to me.

hmm i just noticed the colour shift banding thingy on mine yesterday, it was a new monitor and didn't have plastic under the bezel either but i've only had a it about a month and notice the issue which im sure wasn't there before.

no not yet, soon ish

just had a thought will it work without a graphics card?, as i havnt got one? just for web browsing, i do intend getting g card eventually

cheers

Could someone answer this that has the BDM4065UC. I recently purchased a monitor that uses the same screen as the philips: a 404k crossover. But I am wondering if the philips uses a different coating on the screen than my monitor.

My screen has a slight AG coating to it; where you can notice a grainy look especially on white or grey screens. I thought the screen would be glossy like my old catleap but it is not.

Looking at the reviews from tftcentral and pcmonitors - Im leaning toward that the philips does have a different coating to the screen but Id like to hear from you guys.

Is the screen glossy? or do you notice a slight AG coating to it? as what I notice with my version (which uses the same panel).

tftcentral says the colors pop and are vivid (now Id say that of my catleap but I would not say that of this 404k that I have).

thanks
