If a game relied on cloud computing,

if your not on the internet, I'm guessing you can't play the game :)

No game will "rely" on cloud computing

MS have suggested games could offload some of the background processing for low-latency stuff, if desired.

Was it MS who said that and why is that BS?

Group program manager of Xbox Incubation & Prototyping Jeff Henshaw recently told OXM that for every console Microsoft builds, it will provision the CPU and storage equivalent of three Xbox One consoles in the cloud. This allows developers to assume that there's roughly three times the resources immediately available to their game. Thus, developers can build bigger, persistent levels that are more inclusive for players.

Well I don't hold much hope for console cloud computing. My virgin 100mb line has problems with over subscription, streaming problems and also virgins traffic shaping software. Add that with average latency times and variable ping rates. Also, how much data will be going up and down. Some ISPs also have limited usage caps.

You only have to play MMOs to see what cloud based computing does. The amount of times i see the word "Lag" mentioned, is uncountable now.

What have MS claimed, and why is it BS in your expert opinion?

They have made various bizarre claims including the cloud will make each XBone 40x more power than the Xbox 360 and 3 or 4 times as powerful that the current XBone. Attempting to give the impression that via the power of this cloud, the XBone’s subpar hardware will become much more powerful than it actually is and more powerful than the PS4, resulting in better gameplay, graphics etc. When pushed on what it will improve they came up with things like lighting can be sent can be sent to the cloud, processed and beamed back along with other bizarre claims.

When in fact none of this is possible for numerous reasons, hence pretty much boiling down to MS BS.

Next time put in the effort and research yourself, then you wouldn’t need to rely on my "expert" opinion :o

What are the numerous reasons this is not possible?

And why are you getting so touchy? you clearly know more about this than MS so your expert opinion is most welcomed here?

Hence the always online connection requirement? Wonder what happens if you are not online.

There is no always-online requirement, just once every 24 hours, presumably for DRM purposes.

If there is no net connection, a game will fall back to the internal hardware. Possibly there may be a dip in framerate, some reduced effects, who knows? Depends how the system works and the games are coded.
