I'll be happy to test it with you, you're usually very quiet!
Another Q. though, are you attaching both the headset and mic to your DS4 with a jack splitter? Or are you attaching the headphones directly to your tv?
EDIT: just seen your above post
there's 2 ways to do it i'm going to try to the controller first with the belkin, if that doesn't work then get something like this.

or i can try and get this

the little logitech USB splitter and connect a mic and headphones to it.
i don't know what it's called though or it's model number. i'm sure i had one in the past and i probably binned it. in fact i think i gave it to my bro who binned them after a while.
i would need to buy a seperate mic though on top whereas the belkin has a mic built in. this is why i'm trying the belkin out first kills 2 birds with 1 stone.
edit:
apparently getting game sound through the controller is awful (it's only good for audio chat).
therefore it looks like a USB splitter setup meaning wired to the console rather than wired to the controller is better for full audio.
i'm going to stick with the belkin for now and then get a mixamp in future they are pricey at £110 just to get decent signal but there is no other option that i can see that is easy if you want a decent headset setup.
the main point being headphones and a separate mic > gaming headsets. it's just trying to get a headphone and separate mic to work with the PS4 is very much a PITA.
your probably better off with that £60 if you don't want to buy a mixamp, etc but i've took the risk on this £5 belkin thing being adequate for now. i'm hoping the problem is power related as in you need to have headphones that are very easy to drive rather than the PS4 sending a very crappy quality signal to the DS4 (it is bluetooth so I imagine it is sending a crap signal).
if sony release a firmware update which allows you to use different inputs and outputs separately then it may be possible to just hook up a mic to the controller using a splitter and then get all audio from the console (including voice chat which currently can only go through one output at a time).
i'll wait 12 months before i'm willing to spend £110 on a mixamp ideally I don't want wires all over the place either so i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place if this doesn't give good enough SQ.
