I bought the 1TB seagate SSHD. Even with my poop Sky Broadband, I am usually one of the first to spawn on the map on multiplayer BF4. So if that is the kind of thing you are looking at buying an SSD for I can highly recommend the SSHD as the alternative despite your worries about speed

Ps4 desperately needs a killer app and soon.

It already has, it performs on par if not better on the vast majority of multiplats than its direct competitor, the XO. That shouldnt be underestimated considering the very high percentage of games that are released that are multiplats. To me, thats the main reason why the X360 enjoyed such a good software attach rate and as we know its the software sales that really make the money for platform owners, especially around launch

I'm one of the first to spawn on the map, my gun, and the textures however.. Take up to 30 seconds sometimes. Frustrating using the standard hdd! I've been dumped into a tdm game before and my gun has taken ages to pop up! I was killed the other afternoon with nothing to defend myself ha.

I don't think the PS4 is selling well because it has a large selection of exclusive games to play, it's selling well because it's the more powerful next generation console and is also cheaper than the competitor.

The PS4 definitely does need some 'killer apps' of its own.

really!, no such problems here with standard HDD , i normally spawn while transport is still available and I have my weapon fully equiped!

I have the same drive as you but the 500GB version

SSD will be even faster consistently though it's just that I might need more space so I'll wait for 360GB for <£75.

Sounds like your HDD or install might be bad. Try re-installing the game.

The good games will come soon enough with time. How many does the XB1 have? 1-2 decent exclusives? PS4 developers will catch up soon enough. Although it's hilarious that these amazing exclusives on XB1 only have a target market of 2 million, whereas the PS4 exclusives will have around 3 times that.

Developers in future could opt not to give exclusives to MS because the number of lost sales would be HUGE.

Interesting to see what happens in future if sales continue in this fashion. XB1 could be left with a handful of exclusives over time.

Nobody has said it's selling well due to exclusive content, however I'm confident the great exclusive titles will come and when that happens it will only solidify the platforms position as the no1 console in this generation. At this moment in time its selling more than the X1 due to people knowing the PS4 is not only substantially more powerful but the X1 has a high price and lacking in performance.

Anyway, the 1st 'killer app' comes out Friday and is arguably the first game to look next gen visually and nothing on the X1 can touch it. The exclusives on the PS4 will really highlight the potential of the console and that's really bad news for Microsoft.

BF4 and War Thunder are 2 reasons to have bought the PS4 IMO than waiting for big exclusives.

War Thunder's latest update improved the graphics dramatically for me, gameplay has also improved and it is a bit of a grindfest I love playing it for 1-3 battles at a time it's very much pick up and play friendly after you have done the tutorial.

War Thunder IMO is a very big exclusive in my book. Soon the Tank patch will be released where you can now jump into tanks and fight, so the game will evolve from dogfighting into vehicle fighting as well.

Could not get on with War Thunder menus , so uninstalled it.

Did they improve the menus in the updates?

Same here, using a 1TB EVO SSD, usually first to spawn onto maps

Well the first two responses to the killer app were it's doing well, so I interpreted that as it doesn't need 'killer apps' because of how well it's doing at the moment.

I presume the increase was just down to stock being available, amazing that stock being available coincides with an increase in sales. Who would have thought
