The reports appear to be hyperbolic, the game averages over 50 fps which should suggest that it spends most of its time nearer 60fps than not.

The benefit of having the fast memory setup of the PS4 is that developers can enable V Sync and proper triple buffering which only displays the latest frame and discards any old ones to improve controller response and smooth out fps drops instead of chopping between 30 and 60 FPS on a double buffered game.
 
Roll on the next is all I say and a nice reboot of an aging series, if this is what we are getting now I would love to see what the next Uncharted game will play and look like.
 
The biggest problem with 30fps is the input lag it produces.

Taking the figures from here:

PS4 input lag
60fps = 16.66ms (best case)
50.98fps = 19.61ms (average)
33fps = 30.3ms (worst case)

Xbox One input lag
30fps = 33.33ms (best case)
29.84ms = 33.51ms (average)
24fps = 41.66ms (worst case)

Input lag is bad no matter what the type of games is.

I find it interesting that in these times gamers defend a 'steady' 30fps and yet when it comes to buying a monitor/TV a low latency is usually one of their top priorities.
 
I didn't know that the PS4 cannot play DVD-R discs. I know they had limited it's media capabilities but thought that was more USB file side than discs.

Can the PS4 play CD-R's (with images on them) or recordable blu rays (party videos)?

I have pictures on discs, as well as videos I would like to put on from time to time when guests are around and I used to use the PS3 for this but I sold it because I thought the PS4 should do everything the PS3 does.

Looks like I might need to go and buy a separate blu ray player now

It is, basically they should give a selection.

If I sold a lunch buffet for say 10 quid, all you can eat... and then all there was on offer, was plain pasta... would you be happy?

Ive shelled out 40 notes and all I get is a poxy game that I dont like/want/heard of... let alone the fact that the console hasnt even got a decent game on it yet at full RRP.

i wouldn't buy a lunch buffet from you because theres a place up the road which does it for £4.95 and offers a range of foods and a full 3 courses.

you knew what you were getting before you paid for psn plus, if you didn't then maybe you should have researched it.

Can anyone comment on the ORB Vertical Console Stand for the PS4.

Wondering if it'll be safe to use with my PS4. Seems to be conflicting things here regarding standing the PS4 up.
 
As long as the stand has the same vents as the official one in order to allow air flow, it'll be fine.

Both those sites are saying almost exactly the same thing, so one has evidently plagiarised the other.

Your argument is bordering on the ridiculous. Maybe you should write to Sony saying that they should only give free games that you have heard of? They could even run them by you first?

Probably shouldn't have bought a console that doesn't have any games you want to play then. Seem almost too obvious.

As for PS Plus, they'll provide a better selection of games as time goes on, have a bit of patience; there's not a whole lot they can do about the fact that there's obviously a limited library available. Offering a selection of 1 game from a choice of 3 would be utterly awful; what if you want two (or all three) of the games on offer? The way PS+ works is great, you can't realistically expect to get games you want to play every single time though.

What games have Xbox given out for free so far ?? i bet none as good as this.

Once again you are completely wrong... SURPRISE!

You stated stress was added because of the laser and HDD head orientation, which I corrected.

Those articles focus on stability (it physically falling over) and airflow, neither of which I commented on.

Unlike you, I don't comment on things pretending to be this all knowing guru if I'm ignorant of the facts.

Agree. The games are random, you should have known that. Don't spend "40 notes" if you don't know what you are getting. Its not like a random game is all you are getting either. Its one months game that you are not interested in, theres another 11. Stop whining.

I remember the days of Live and getting emmm ummmm ahhhh......

Oh yeah, online play and access to demos :p

How times have changed! now we have people demanding free games like it's their right. Also they have also provided 2 Vita games and also 3 PS3 games all for one subscription. I think it's a great service :)
