You're never going to get what you want every time, there'll probably be something more catered to your tastes next month. It's still superb value so I don't see what there is to be "livid" about.

Shop around, I paid 27 for my years PS+. Also it's a free game...:rolleyes:

It's a new console, what games do you expect? Look at the PS3 selection this month, cracking deal I'd say so quite moaning and lose this sense of entitlement that you have clearly developed.

you got a bargain at £27, even on cdkeys it's around £34 but most people don't have a clue that you can get these things for cheaper and just pay £40 in game and PSN is setup to auto-renew at £40 as well and takes the cash straight off your card and people forget when it's going to run out, their should be a warning or a reminder or an easier way to find out when it runs out imo.

i managed to get 2 for £50 in December I already had over a year left as well from previous deals so I'm sorted for a long time now.

HMV has had ridiculously cheap PSN plus deals but never had any stock in all the stores i have checked.
 
Been a bit disappointed with Tomb Raider's frame rate, I wish they had kept it 60fps silky smooth and dropped the res a bit, I doubt it would have made much difference as it looks so good.

I thought it was 60fps as the XBONE version is getting a lot of stick for being 30fps only?

It starts at 60FPS but it's not static, it can fluctuate quite badly at times from what I understand. Not below around 40FPS I think, but enough of a drop that you'll notice it when playing.

No it's north of 50 some of the time which in peoples minds equates to 60FPS.

This is the problem with the amount of FUD people spread about all this frame rate crap.

The lowest it goes to on the PS4 is 32FPS.

Average Frame-Rate 29.98fps 53.36fps

very.co.uk had a deal on where if you were a new customer (just use a new email address) you could get £30 off a £60 spend iirc.

so 2 x £40 = £80 - £30 = £50 but then I had to pay £3.95 shipping

so £27 each in the end due to shipping.

that deal ended though.

my wife bought a DS4 for £55 + £6 on some make up = £61 - £30 = £31 + £3.95 shipping = £35 for a DS4 and some make up


so we got 2 really good deals from that £30 off code
 
Its the fluctuations that I dont like - it does look incredible when running 60 (pretty much everything inside is 60, outside depends on how far the draw distance is).

They should have just locked it to 30 for outside and 60 for inside.

There have been various deals available and little exploits of coupons/vouchers to get them cheap.

Cheapest i got one for was £18.95 for 12 months.

Very offer £25 off £50 order after I created an account a hwile back and never use it so they send one now and then to get me to place an order. I always use it to buy a PS+ card, or 2x £25 PSN vouchers then just pay it off in the same transaction.

They do it to get people to leave a credit on their account and pay interest but there is a very easy option to just pay the balance at the same time as your order.

That seems an imaginative way to deal with it - wouldnt be that hard to do - just still have that initial fall/rise when it worked out when to switch. Shame they dont do other locks when new TVs are capable of other refresh rates (unless they dont in non-PAL regions)

some notice fps dips, some don't. I would always notice screen tearing when others didn't. tomb raider for me on ps4 has been an excellent game, and I've not really noticed the fps drop others have mentioned...

However if it'd screen teared I'd have noticed that no problem... I personally hate screen tearing much more then fps dips...

Yes, how awful of Sony to give us a highly rated free (depending on how you view the subscription) game. They should give us lots of choice from all of the many PS4 games that are currently out.

if the average frame rate on the PS4 is 53.4 fps why would you want it locked to 30fps when outside?

or is it simply that most of the game is inside and hardly any outside?

also if you look at the stats it's pretty conclusive that the PS4 version is far superior, the highest frame rate is double that of XB1 and the average frame rate is 78% higher. I wouldn't exactly call that a small difference.

Drops from 60 down to 40 can be quite jarring. Its better usually to have a locked frame rate, albeit it lower than the average, to keep the whole experience consistent and smooth.
 
I noticed small frame drops in both versions with Tombraider. I did not find the PS4 version hugely smoother than the Xbox one version. Both seemed fairly smooth to me overall.

What an odd conclusion you draw, considering we do not know what FPS an unlocked XB1 version would run you cannot draw the conclusion you did.
