*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I also have owned an Xbox 360 which was free of issues, and have an Xbox One which has not given me a single problem yet. In fact I don't think a single game has crashed on that.

The 360 was the most unreliable gaming hardware ever released, I went through 9.

Sounds like you got unlucky with your PS4, I'd just get it swapped in store if it's brand new. You're hardly doing Sony out of business by chalking it up as a loss and binning it when you are entitled to a replacement.

Eclip, no one is suggesting its your fault, some things just don't work as intended, it happens. Just go and exchange it and stop acting like your house burnt down.

And as Jim said above, he went through 9, I had one on day of release. It's still working fine - played through Scott pilgrim with the Mrs a few days ago.

Ah, I think my reasoning may have been misunderstood, or I got lost in my own rant. That does happen sometimes...

Normally I'd get another console, but in this case the only game I really wanted was Bloodborne, being a huge fan of the Souls series. As I've played it to death, and there are literally no games on the horizon that interest me I'm just calling it quits. As I said, it's been more than worth it for Bloodborne, and financially, the £300 is no loss to me really.

£300 to play a game. Wow. Do you have gold leaf bog roll, too? :D

Yeah when you say it like that it does seem excessive. Not something I've ever done before but I fell for the Souls series that badly that I just had to play Bloodborne. Having said that, Uncharted 4 was fantastic too so I got 2 incredible experiences out of it.

I'll just keep hold of this one so it's not a total loss. Oddly enough, despite all the problems with other games, Bloodborne is the one game that actually runs with very few issues.

I'd at least get it replaced and sell it on.

My launch PS4 has been rock solid and has seen some serious use over the last year. The controllers on the other hand are made of cheese. On my 6th controller, all died with broken R2 buttons.

Just tried to play Bluray and it doesn't even seem to recognise there is a disc in the drive. Games work fine just not blueray... Or audio cd oddly.

Well that didn't last long for me. Bought a PS4 mainly for Bloodborne and it came with Uncharted 4. This game had serious issues crashing for me and at first I thought it was the game, given how many reports I saw when I looked it up. Since then I've tried Bloodborne (which I loved, and finished despite a few crashes) and Until Dawn which became unplayable very quickly. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, followed instructions from lots of online sources and videos to fix this and it seems it's a widespread issue. I've decided I've had it with Sony now.

I had problems with two separate PS3's, Sony's customer support is diabolical, and this PS4 is brand new. I'm not even gonna try and get a replacement. This thing is going, and I'm not touching another Sony product as long as I live. I'm saddened it came to this as Bloodborne was incredible and I'd like to have hung onto it but this is just a total joke. It's not just one error code either. On more than one occasion the sound has badly distorted, and several times the machine has just shut itself down mid-game.

Having seen the sheer number of people reporting this problem pretty much everywhere I look, I'm just wondering...has anyone here had this problem? And if so, did you manage to solve it?

http://ps4daily.com/2014/09/ps4-error-ce-34878-0-fix/ unless I'm missing something seems pretty easy to fix:confused:

Have you met pioneer2000, you'd get on well with him.

Seriously though, I've had mine since release and not had a single issue that I can remember. £300 is a lot of money to chalk up as a loss, if you don't want it why not maybe give it to your local children's hospital or something like that (maybe even get it exchanged first) the kids would certainly make use of it and something positive will come from your bad luck.

Well yeah, it is; you're keeping a console that's obviously faulty when you could get it swapped for a working one. You can't moan it's a piece of crap whilst simultaneously acting like you're not bothered about losing money on it.

What I mean there is that Bloodborne is the one game that doesn't seem to suffer the problems I've had with everything else and that being the sole reason I bought it, I could live with that.

Still, I've been thinking overnight. I'm gonna get it swapped then I'll just sell it on. I won't miss it if I'm honest. Everything about the console and the pad looks and feels cheap, and seeing as I've played Bloodborne to death, I've had my use out of it. Glad I played both Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 though. They were excellent games, but the PS4 itself hasn't won me over enough to hang on to it.

Yeh get it swapped over mate.
I know what you mean though, although a more powerful console, I seem to have played my Xbox far more. Still I'm gonna grab a Neo and play the exclusives that I haven't yet played.

Yeah, despite my experiences with both PS3 and PS4, I'd possibly give the Neo a chance too. I'd definitely have Bloodborne again, and Sony has Naughty Dog who always deliver something special. I'll put this money aside and hopefully I'll have a smoother ride when I pick up the Neo.:D

I wouldn't even bother getting it replaced in that case, just request a refund.

Yeah I realised shortly after I said I'd sell it on, that a refund was the obvious choice. Then hopefully I'll have a trouble free experience with the Neo. Don't want to sound like the eternal pessimist but I'm approaching it with caution going by past issues with all Sony products I've owned. Still, I'm willing to at least give them a shot. I've got to be lucky at some stage, right? :p
