*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Heh! I love laying on my bed stretched out on my side gaming on the PS4. As fun as PC gaming is, sitting at a desk just isn't as nice as the memory foam bed. Though I'd have to lug the PC in... but then you cannot play mouse keyboard properly. As the TV sits 9ft away.

I have steam link and a Roccat sova for the living room so don't need to sit at my desk. ;)

Still, best impulse buy ever!

I can't believe how quickly getting my PS4pro has relegated my PC gaming. All I play on PC now is GTA V, TW3 and games that need mouse and KB.

The Last of Us, Uncharted series and HZD to name a few have pretty much put my PC gaming down to 10% Not sure I'll even bother buying a new GPU or upgrading now.

I go through phases - just got a PS4 pro and putting more time into this then my PC, but then I'll go back to my PC in a few months time. I actually prefer the change, although the PS4 pro has been a very solid performer in terms of providing smooth gameplay - fairly decent console for the price and some really interesting exclusives as you mentioned.

I was going through a phase of opening up steam, staring blankly at the library and list of unplayed games, then ending up browsing instead and not playing anything at all.

I'll admit that I've now got to the point where I can mentally gloss over the lower res textures and the lower frame rates just because it's a hassle free gaming experience for the most part. Multiplayer and party chat just works. Love playing with all my mates again (who refuse to spend the cash on a decent PC) :D

Feeling dirty but having fun! :D

Anyone here use the 2.0 headset (also called 'Gold' I believe) with a launch day PS4?

I've had two now, and both have had issues with disconnections and sound crackle - even when wired, I get the crackle still! I've tried swapping the USB ports, relocating the PS4 so I have a direct line of sight, resetting the headset dongle, factory resetting the headset in the app, firmware update, different sound profiles... still plays up!

I'm starting to think it may be the PS4 though, as I've had identical issues with both headsets (got the first one replaced) - read something about issues with the USB ports on some launch day consoles...

Just interested to see if anyone else has had this, and [hopefully] fixed it?

I find I flit between both PC and PS4.. some games are just PC, some are just PS4.

However I've had Destiny on PS4 and got some pretty good stuff on there, put loads of hours in etc. I'm really debating getting Destiny 2 on PC, but some of these games reward you for being a "repeat" player on that console and I can see Destiny 2 doing that... PS4 is in my office (which is the only place I can game in peace) so the argument of comfort has no bearing on me.

Destiny 2 may have bigger player base on ps4 too with past users plus early rights to DLC I think it does have something exclusive I know that much. I know I'll stick with ps4 for destiny2 over pc

Anyone having issues with the store? Trying to buy a couple of games on my PC through the site and the payment keeps failing. I can't download games on my Vita either.

Does anyone know if Game would accept a PS4 console with a DS4 controller that has slightly worn xbox one thumbsticks?

I could throw in a new ds4 but would rather not.

Doubt they would accept it as you have opened the controller

That's what I thought, I could put the old sticks back on but would they be able to tell its been tampered with, I cant remember if there was some sort of tamper seal on the ds4.

If not I could just put in the new ds4, had it years and not used it anyway.

They won't be able to tell you've opened it, there's no tamper seal or anything on them. I doubt they'd give it more than a cursory glance anyway.

I wish Metal Gear Solid 4 got a remaster for the PS4. Had this game since release and never played it for the PS3 but loving it so far. A lot of creepy things I've come across since I've never played a Metal Gear game before.

I'd love there to be one, but with Konami and Kojima the way they are now, it's never going to happen.

Can't believe you've never played an MGS before though! 1-4 are excellent games. 5 can die in a fire for all I care.

Snake Eater is one of the best games ever. 4 wasn't as good but still nice.

5 had brilliant gameplay mechanics, they put most games to shame. And a lot of details on top of that. It should have been directed differently, though. The story was all over the place and very fragmented.

I've only played the Ground Zeroes thing which I quite enjoyed. The others I've watched on the Twitch marathons so no need to play them now. :p

MGS4 was very-much fan service for fans of the previous games, a lot of it probably doesn't make much sense without the context of of at least 1 and 2.

Are the controls supposed to be clunky? They aren't as nice as Uncharted 1 let alone the later butter smooth Uncharted games. A lot of deadzone in the centre. Its a bit infuriating.

The game is becoming rather interesting though. Quite liked Act 2 from last night. Felt like something from an 80s action film, Rambo/Chuck Norris. Out in the fields, ditches, crawling through drains/sewers, grass, tiny rock caverns and warehouses. Hiding in drums and cardboard boxes, LOL! "Who put this drum here..."

Cannot believe how I've never played this after all this time. Even though the game looks dated, it still looks quite good. Very military looking.

The Laughing Octopus battle was well done I thought? Pin pointing her via sound as she hides in the painting and boxes. You could close your eyes and know exactly where she was more or less. Creepy scene though even the build up seeing a quick glimpse of the tentacles pass the windows and she curses you inside the area.

Raiden is quite bad ass! Though the cut scenes are bloomin ridiculous. I must have watched 30 minutes in one go at one point. Vamp is very daunting and disturbing. Reminds me of a film?

The scripted AI is quite cheesy watching them follow each other as they report back to HQ its all clear.

Pervy how they had Snake kneel on the floor trying to peek up Naomi's skirt. What the heck... She is yummy though. I'm assuming the game is supposed to have manga traits? Quite a strange setting. Meryl is yum as well.

How awesome would this have been if it had been remastered. It would have been so nice with refined controls.
