*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

without meaning to sound antagonising, I think they are probably making assumptions about the users broadband speed being a lot better. I don't have figures to prove anything but I would guess the majority of people have a lot better.
I feel for you though, moved 1 mile down the road and went from same as yours to fibre optic.

Yeh I know the speed is pitiful, and any kind of download (PS4/Steam etc) just kills iPlayer and makes Netflix stream at 240p :(

It's just such a basic function to start/pause a download, but I guess there are many simple functions that are still missing from the PS4.

I've only found this issue really because I turned on my PS4 for the first time in nearly 2 months :p as Assassins Creed got painfully repetitive and most of the other games I already have on PC (although still have Killzone to get through)

Really hoping Infamous scores well.. otherwise I'll be waiting for the next PS4 exclusive..

I hear you. I have got Tomb Raider which is keeping me occupied and a Vita game so Infamous should be my next one, if not I'll be playing FF X HD so not a disaster.
I agree that adding stop start isn't a big ask and hopefully is implemented for those in your situation.

Are you tempted by MGS Ground Zeroes? Can get it pre-ordered for about £22 from Game (they have a £5 off voucher). However it will probably be another one to wait for the reviews in regards to how short it actually is

I was surprised yesterday that while on KZ MP that 6Gb update didnt stop but downloaded and installed itself without me noticing any lags/freezes. I assumed it just paused itself when something started using the network like on the PS3.

ps3ud0

Did the same here on bf4, turned on the ps4 and noticed an update but loaded bf4. When I came off it was already installed

Not in the slightest, I cannot play a game if I don't understand the storyline and sadly I only ever played the first one. I sometimes think I should seek out a summary video or something with all the cutscenes etc, I have read but it's hard to get the full effect without playing the games I think.

Watching all the cutscenes, or playing the game fully is only about 2 hours difference at the most. lol

I love MGS1 and Snake Eater but if you're not fully in the mood then it's hard going.
My MGS4 playthrough had about 2 hours gameplay, and there was about 5-6 hours of cutscenes or something.

But, there are sites where you can view every cutscene fully and watch it like a tv series or something!

Not impressed with Gamestop. Placed a PS4 'waiting list' order last week. No information about how long it will take to get one - that's fair enough I suppose, maybe they just don't know.

Anyway, I just asked to cancel and they say this is totally impossible and I'll just have to refuse delivery when it eventually shows up (weeks? months?).

They seem a bit incompetent. I asked why I couldn't cancel and the answer was 'because it's been processed'.

What date each month do they refresh the free games for PS4?

Looks like they're trying hard to keep people on the PS3  http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/02/...arch?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook

Not surprising really. If I didn't already have a PS3 I would definitely get one with no games and just a PS Plus subscription.

Although Dead Nation is a pretty fun game. But, like with most of the other PS4 games, I've already completed it on another platform (not sure how much new content is in this 'Apocalypse' edition)

That is awful! Have they taken payment yet?

I really should have waited before buying a PS4. Its sat there and hasnt been used for a good month at least. Cant see that situation changing anytime soon. Never been a fan of the other Infamous games so I cant see the new one changing my mind. Serves me right for buying a launch console on the strength of games that arnt out for months (Destiny and the Devision).

This really is the weakest lineup of launch games ive seen on any new console, and ive seen a few being an old sod.

Between now and september, the only game I can see coming out I want is Trails Fusion, and that isnt out until 17th April.

Bought it with Fifa, played that for a while and sold it last month

I also picked up Killzone, finished the single player and sold it

Tried all the free stuff, Resogun is the only one of any worth IMHO.

Like the look of Tomb Raider, but ive finished it on the 360 and the PC.

Currently the only game I have installed is Resogun
