*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Third controller peeling, time for another replacement.

how bad is the peeling as one of my controllers peeled after a few weeks very slightly then again a few weeks later, again was very slightly.....been fine ever since. are ppls peeling to the core or something?

I must be lucky with my controllers, as they've seen a ton of play since getting my PS4 and the thumbsticks have been fine so far. Hopefully they'll stay that way.

I bought my Ps4 at Game so I just take my receipt with the controller back into the store and they do a straight swap with a brand new one. Peeling wise it is seriously flaky on the left analogue stick.

Has anyone else' console stopped downloading game updates whilst in stand by?

I leave my machine on stand by all the time, but it only seems to pick downloads up when I turn it on.

I have all the right settings set.

Double check it is downloading because Ive noticed that when I switch on my PS4 I get the pop up something is downloading but when I check it was installed and downloaded in the early morning (5am-ish). Think last one was a DC:U update yesterday...

yeah, confusing message system, my says added killzone shadow fall to downloads, when what it means is killzone updated and the message is telling me it was added to downloads and has in fact downloaded and installed.

typical Sony messaging at its best it seems...

Yeah it just means the Downloads section of the Notification area I guess, but Im paranoid enough to check (normally Im MPing so dont want updates doing stuff in background) and always noticed its always saying that file is updated...

I find the ps3 better at keeping games and backing up saves online. I just hear it everyday being switchrd on, does everything and then turns off.

I don't understand how the ps4 is supposed to do that. I'm assuming when it's on stand mode it downloads files., but for for me it never does.

Check the uploads area, I think it does it actively while its on in the background rather than a set time
Yes when I check mine the downloads are at 0% and have only just started, this has been on standby for the last 24 hours basically.
Thats wierd, I know Ive had to answer this before so more than yourself must get it - is it all the time or just this one instance? Actually think there was a thread about this debating putting the PS4 into standby or not.

Whenever I check I notice it auto-updates, but then I only have it on a few of times a week...

It's already been posted before the ps4 doesn't download in standby unless you started the download before you enter it.

Should hopefully be fixed soon.

Is there somewhere that we can send an email or report problems such as this?

The ps4 patching system also still hasn't been fixed because war thunder still hasn't gotten it's next big update yet

Anyone got killzone patch notes? I tested the latest final fantasy 14 patch last night and the framerate is still the lowest of all ps4 titles sadly at 20-30 which makes it a headache to play for a long time.

For the love of god Sony, why can't you just add a pause function to downloads

there is no need to.

they download in the background and don't take any power/bandwidth away from anything else that you do on the console.

unless your downloading multiple updates and you want one of them to download quicker than the rest, that's the only time you would need to pause a download. I'm sure it will be addressed with updates but I don't see that as a major priority ATM, I would prefer if they made the auto update work properly in standby and then you wouldn't have loads of updates going on at once anyway.

Actually there is.

I don't play any multiplayer on the console itself, so I don't care how it affects that. It's more for when someone else is trying to do something on the internet (my avg d/load speed is only 220kbps), e.g. watching Netflix, and I have to go to settings to use one of the 'workarounds' or to disconnect the PS4 from the network altogether (which then means I can't chat to friends etc).

without meaning to sound antagonising, I think they are probably making assumptions about the users broadband speed being a lot better. I don't have figures to prove anything but I would guess the majority of people have a lot better.
I feel for you though, moved 1 mile down the road and went from same as yours to fibre optic.

I was surprised yesterday that while on KZ MP that 6Gb update didnt stop but downloaded and installed itself without me noticing any lags/freezes. I assumed it just paused itself when something started using the network like on the PS3.
