What is people's take here on the hardest difficulty for God of War?

Yea I made the mistake of playing on the hardest difficulty... I am losing my mind over here as it takes me like an hour+ to get past each encounter.

I am good and old god of war games, I am good at games in general, This game gives the soulsborne series a run for its money with the amount of frustration this is causing me.

Pretty sure I am still technically in tutorial mode or something because I haven't even gotten the chance to get to a shop yet and upgrade my gear.

That being said, it is kind of super annoying that each enemy takes like 20-30 hits to kill unless you just spam the Heavy Smash when you can die in 1-3 hits

i played on 2nd highest to start with.. after 40% of the game it gets a lot easier

gonna do god of war difficulty after playing spider man!

First time on give me god of war difficulty is hardest at the start as you got very limited skills, rune and armor. Pretty much have to dodge everything.

Its the reason why I played on normal difficulty lol then will attempt gmgow difficulty on NG+.

I hadn't played the God of War series before but last night on the highest difficulty I must have spent over an hour on the first encounter trying to learn the mechanics then it just clicked. I love the slow motion timing with the shield to act on the heavy blows.

Draugr's were a pain at first. Especially 3 - 4 of them. It's amusing when getting two together then smashing them up into the air.

I'm trying to convince a mate to pick up a PS4 instead of an XB1, and am going at it from the PS exclusives angle. Am I missing any big games from this list (granted some are remasters of previous gen, which he doesn't have either)?

Bloodborne
Spider-Man
The Last of Us
Horizon Zero Dawn
Shadow of the Colossus
God of War
Uncharted series

I know there are plenty more, but these strike me as the big AAA titles that might sway someone to go Sony over Microsoft. Anything else you can think of?

Thanks - hadn't heard of Until Dawn.

Hadn't considered Yakuza because it's not exclusive to Playstation, but fair enough it's not on XB. Might pick GR up myself!

Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 aren't on PC (at least yet) but maybe Sega will decide to release all the games on Steam, Zero got pretty great reviews.

GR 1&2 is super cool, recommended! And they're both cheap to boot:)

There's also Persona 5 if someone likes JRPGs.

I just picked up God of War for £25. I'm still playing Bloodborne, so won't start it yet, but it was a good price. That leaves my list of PS games I still want to get as HZD, Spiderman(kind of) and Persona 5. I won't be getting round to them for a long time though!

The Persona games are an acquired taste, but I put over a hundred hours in to Persona 4 Golden on the Vita... Before realising I got the bad ending.

Yeah, I considered P5 but thought it too much of a niche taste to use it to "sell" PS4 to someone.

I suppose I should have asked about upcoming titles too. TLOU2 springs to mind of course. Not totally convinced by Days Gone or Ghost of Tsushima, but am still looking forward to seeing more. And Death Stranding? That could go in any direction at this stage!

Death Stranding won't disappoint, so long as you go in knowing there is no point trying to work out what is going on... I'm sure it will be an experience!

Im really looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima. Gameplay videos look great.

Kojima is crazy enough that I think it won't:p Especially now that he's not bogged down by Konami. I'd much prefer he could've finished the Silent Hill reboot but it's bether than nothing.

Well the last video I saw of it certainly looked amazing. Almost like a photo-realistic trek through Snowdonia/Peak District in parts.
