Thanks all (piccture wise half the geometry is missing on the left hand side in the first one and there is meant to be a floor under the character in the second). Will try the repair as running from internal ssd.

Do you guy often play films on your ps5s? I watched the Meg 2 on bluray yesterday and noticed the sound going out of sync, wasn't sure what was up. I was using lpcm, but I've switched to atmos to see if there's any change, I can't say whether games suffer from it or not.

Occasionally yes. No sound syncing issues though.

Yeah, I think people who say they have a 'whisper quiet' PS5 aren't as sensitive to noise like me or just do a good job at tuning it out

Whisper quiet, aside from actually meaning a lot louder than people use it for, is also a load of ******** because there was an amazing amount of 'whisper quiet' PS4 Pros according to this forum.
I had about 6 different models, never managed to get one of the elusive 'silent ones'. Too many environmental factors to take people's word for it.
Loudest PS5 I had was the slightly newer model (GOW Bundle) with the UFO fans, that went back after two days and I never got another one as the OGs were pretty much done at that point.

The PS4 / PS4 Pro was so loud that I ended up putting across the other side of the room and running a 6m HDMI cable because I could hear it through headphones.

I genuinely think anyone who said their PS4 Pro was quiet was borderline deaf.

My pro was so noisy that when I played gow I had subs on. Its only playing ragnorok that I actually realised it's a different voice actor to all the previous (ps2/vita/3 ones).

I'm pretty hyped for Tekken 8 now. Been practicing on the demo a lot as it's been so long since I played a Tekken game. I already feel like I've got the basics down, I just need to work out how to string the juggling combos down and I should be half decent!

Grabbed it on Steam and got the Launch Edition on PS5 directly from Bamco as well, can't wait to jump in, even after 30h of playing ranked across all the Tekken 8 network tests.

Wouldn't worry too much about juggles, just get down a simple one that works off multiple launchers and focus on the basics that'll allow you to force your opponent into making mistakes so that you can use those combos then:p

Combo optimisation is the simplest thing to work on later when you get into the game and Tekken is a bottomless well of knowledge and execution, the depth of the game is insane.

As for juggles themselves, there are multiple routes you can go for depending on where about the stage your opponent gets launched and you have to gauge the distance to the wall to apply the best route possible for max damage and wall pressure. That's the gist of it. Or forego your damage and end the juggle with a move that gives you the best okizeme (a situation where your opponent has to guess when getting up from the ground) and possible mixup/relaunch.

I find my Pro pretty quiet (sitting about 3m away) playing most games, but certain games (or certain screens like menus in some games) make it sound like it's about to take off. The Last Guardian for example made it max out the fans constantly, then on Sega Mega Drive Classics, it's essentially silent during gameplay but maxes fans in the 'hub' section where you pick games etc, presumably because FPS is through the roof without limiting while also triggering full clocks.

My original model PS5 in contrast is almost silent and also much more consistent, I barely notice the fans spin up at all.

Both far quieter than sitting at my idle PC with a 140mm intake fan, H80i on 'quiet' mode and GTX1080.

1) Is there any offers available on PS+ Subs (Extra or Premium) or is it just the trick of buying PSN credit for less than the face value and then buying the sub through the console itself? My existing Premium sub is due at the end of Jan and I didn't see any sub offers over the Christmas sales period. Likely to drop to the Extra tier as see no benefit for me from the premium tier.
There's apparently a sale for some accounts from today. It does seem that they have limited you from being able to extend your existing subscription at a discounted rate since they increased the prices last year, instead it seems you need to let your sub expire before you can use or see any discount offers. But confusingly this doesn't seem to apply to every account equally, with some people saying they have still been able to extend by 1 year with a discount.

Just got round to playing The Last of Us 2 for the first time.

Oof, right in the feels. What a game. Blown away after 4 hours or so.

Definitely no plot armour in this one.
I am 10 hours in and I’ve played through it 3 times before and it still surprises me. Good luck you’re in for a hell of a ride.
