Has anyone come across this issue with installing an nvme in the PS5?

Basically received a Crucial P5 Plus 1TB drive this morning, which is compatible with the PS5.

Installed it into the PS5 and nothing. Wasn't greeted with the formatting screen upon console boot up.

So installed it into my PC and drive was recognised, so the nvme isn't dead. So I've formatted it to exFAT and left file allocation to default.

I'm going to install it back into the PS5 later, hoping that it'll now be detected but has anyone had this issue before?

Update: just reinstalled the nvme into the PS5 after it was recognised and formatted in Windows, still not recognised by the PS5 :(

Just installed the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX 1TB I ordered as a replacement and all working perfectly. :) 6500MB/s read speed and everything copied over.

Still scratching my head as to why the supposedly PS5 compatible Crucial failed to work in the PS5 but worked perfectly in my PC.

There's no way a Pro model will be capable of doing full on RT at 60fps. Consoles are miles away from that level of performance. Heck, even the PS6, whenever it comes out, will be struggling to do that. What a PS5 Pro will try to deliver is 4k 60fps in the majority of games, and even then that won't be native resolution ... it'll use checkerboarding/upscaling tecniques.
When I say full raytracing I mean the current RT profiles that are in games like Spiderman that mean you need to drop to 30 FPS.

They have Performance RT modes that run at 40 FPS which is a bit of a middle ground, but I want the full RT mode in 60 instead of 30.

I have a pair of Pulse Elite on pre-order, I dont have a playstation I have the other one , but will use them for my PC. Seems like they could be great, planar drivers, I have had Audeze penrose before and they were amazing, and these at over half the price of the Maxwells seem like an almost no brainer.

For the price I’m not sure how great they’ll be tbh. When you get them I’d like to hear your thoughts.

I can't stand less than 60fps, feels like wading through treacle. I've started chorus recently and that's got options like performance, quality and RT (I think I'm at work so can't double check). The quality option didn't look that different but the fluidity of the game (I know that sounds a bit pretentious) meant it was so much smoother on the performance setting. As it's set in space I was questioning how it's such a demanding game, there's not a lot going on, although it is a fun game. I showed my Mrs (a very casual gamer) and even she noticed the performance difference.
Oh BTW this is on a C2 so not sure if that exaggerates it.

Yeah, I'm a masive frame rate snob now.

I can still play games at 30fps if I just fully commit to it and don't play any other games at the same time at 60fps or more - otherwise it's jarring going back to 30fps. Depending on how realistic/true the PS5 Pro is, I'd love to see more games give us an unlocked frame rate option so we can play from 60-120.

To be fair, the Crucial item that came wasn't brand new as the security seal on the box had been broken and the NVMe clearly showed signs of previous use as the heatsink had a few scratches on it.

I would have been ok keeping it if it worked in the PS5, as I wouldn't have the faff of ordering a replacement and then returning the Crucial.

My guess here would be that the drive is not "clicking into place" in the PS5. The number of similar posts that appear on Reddit - brand new nVME drives being plugged in, nothing happens at boot, drive simply not recognised.
Blind swearing of the drive was definitely seated correctly, followed by, "Maybe it wasn't - all fixed".
If the PS5 was seeing an incompatible drive you'd get a boot message asking you to remove it - so getting nothing really indicates the PS5 isn't seeing the drive. If the drive is OK, then either the slot on the PS5 isn't working or the drive just isn't quite sitting correctly on it.

Looking for a wireless headset to use with my PS5, any suggestions? I see the Pulse 3d headset but how good is this in practice? I wonder how good the mic is

Just pre-ordered Tekken 8, I liked the demo and I got an Amazon gift card for Christmas so used it on that! Anyone else here planning on getting it?
Just pre ordered it a few minutes ago myself! Completely forgot about it then someone mentioned release is just two weeks away.

I ordered on Amazon but turns out it's actually cheaper in Currys hmm.

Couple of questions, one I think I know the answer to and one I am not sure on.

1) Is there any offers available on PS+ Subs (Extra or Premium) or is it just the trick of buying PSN credit for less than the face value and then buying the sub through the console itself? My existing Premium sub is due at the end of Jan and I didn't see any sub offers over the Christmas sales period. Likely to drop to the Extra tier as see no benefit for me from the premium tier.

2) Ha anyone experienced what I can only describe as missing geometry and/or textures in both R&C (mainly seen on the level where you jump between different time zones - has loads of lava pools) and Horizon:FW - mainly in door areas where there is a lot of clutter - looks like shiny rocks but is actually missing textures on closer inspection. Examples below:

I haven't noticed this in any other game, but saying that, the above games are only what I have been playing lately - got a new Samsung QN90C TV so have been enjoying VRR / HDR goodness.

Not sure if these are just known visual glitches in the game(s) or if my PS5 is starting to show signs of memory issues.

Those screenshots are so small I'm struggling to see what the issue is, but I haven't had any problems like that. Are you running the game from the internal storage or an M.2 SSD? Try restarting in safe mode and do the Repair Console Storage and Clear Cache options:
