It would be nice if they’d done more to quantify the changes and list more than the games but what the Pro will do for those games specifically. I guess that may come in the lead up but if they already have 50+ games on board for the Pro then they should have done a little more than ‘it’ll be better’ and the small sample in the video.

Unless there’s an article somewhere going into a deeper dive for each game?

And not having a disc drive is taking the pee a bit at that price.

There needs to be a a first gameplay footage of gta6 comparing the two consoles with the pro being in quality mode at 60/120 and the regular ps5 being 30 at quality. I think that could get the pro selling out quite quickly.

I am surprise they didn't or couldn't get 1 publisher to agree to show case one of their future games to promote both the console and the games. I know Rockstar will not need more exposure but what about all those Sony in house developers, surely they have 1 good looking game in Alpha right now that make use of this?

I can't help but think the lack of new games used to sell this new console is saying something between the lines rather loudly.

First playstation console I haven't bought, I upgraded my pc and play toones of games on there and now Sony are bringing their titles on the pc, so no point for me.

As much as I like to have every console, I skip the in between ones and just accept the lower fidelity. I played Cyberpunk at launch on base PS4 for 100 hours.....my bar is not that high!

I know myself that if I can do that, I am not going to care about less detailed crowds in the distance. Plus, my playstation games are physical, so I will need to spend more than £700 or I won't be able to play Elden Ring.

100%

What on earth is in the works here? Every game they showed I've already completed. No one is paying £700 to play R&C in slightly better graphics or to have car on car reflections in GT7.

Initial sales will be decent then it will stall.

The more I think about it, who asked for a pro? Why develop it? Trying to get into a 3 year cycle? Extend the generation? Microsoft/Nintendo got something? (Unlikely).

PS6 anyone?

PS+ premium with a "massive games catalogue" £120 a year for 3 years
Digital only Console with 3 year cycle £800.

£1160 ÷ 36 months. £32.22 a month or should we call it £34.99, upgrade in 3 years time. Sound familiar lol

£700 is very expensive.

I hate playing at 30fps and even 40 with vrr.

If 4k at 60fps is possible in most if not all games that would be a selling point for me.

I won't be day one but will enjoy seeing the hands on reviews come out and comparisons on games.

Basically have a lot more information and really world reviews then I can make my choice.

Is there a world where with all this negative pressure on the price they lower it by £100 ??

With how long games take to develop it would make no sense to have a shorter cycle, it makes more sense to do the opposite.

The internet has a short memory, 2 weeks time the internet will be outraged by something else and the Pro will sell out day-one and be hard to get for a few months.

The PS5 Pro is for the top 10% console whales, or cheapskates, if your a PC master race whale.

The price is in line with the realistic expectations, it's just most people have unrealistic expectations. :)

PS5 UK release price £449, account for inflation that's £553 today.
PS5 Pro £699. (PS5 Today £480)

You get 1TB extra storage worth £75+.
but we have to add £100 for the Blu Ray drive and £25 for the stand.

£700 - £480 = £220 - £75, = £145 + £100 + £25 = £270 extra.

So for £270 you get about 45% GPU performance gain. 100% approx ray tracing improvement.
But in reality it's about double the performance for Fidelity Mode 30 to 60 fps.
Some games may get a 60 to 120 fps performance mode, but that isn't going to be common as the CPU may not be up to it for most games.

So it comes down to is 100% increase in fidelity more worth £270?

Yes, buy it, no don't buy it. :D

The price does sound a lot for the ps5. Was not expecting it to be as much as that. But you are getting a lot, but think i would rather spend my money on pc, as there is no disk drive.

Narh, it’s more spending £700 for 3 years until PS6.

There will be zero games what will be PS5 pro exclusive, there will be more than zero games that is PS6 exclusive.

Better still, put the £700 in a savings account for 3 years. It should be enough for a PS6 by then.

That’s what I’ll do….

Its not really even £700 that's my issue it's £825 with the optical drive and stand.

or £890 with above and a second controller as many will need.

It's the most stupidly priced console in history, makes the PS3 look good now on release.
