£70 for a controller is a complete ripoff. Sony are really taking the p*ss nowadays.

To be fair I feel given the tech packed into the dual sense controllers I think it’s actually not too bad for what you’r you’re getting (analogue, gyro, battery, wireless, Bluetooth pc compatibility, rumble, force feedback triggers, mic, speaker, etc).

Personally I think they’re superior compared to other options like the Nintendo pro controller, Xbox controller, 8bitdo ultimate, etc. Most of those are priced at a similar level anyway.

I’d agree that the dual edge is priced at a ludicrous level (£200) for the extras you get above the regular dual sense.

This is my stance also

The £70 price tag wouldn't be so bad if they actually lasted a long time. I'm on my 4th now due to stick drift. :(

I've found somewhere that will fix them for £12.50 each but it's just a pain...

Yeah they just don't last, I'm looking at replacing the sticks myself as I like to tinker and it's abit of a project. If I can fix my broken controller I will likely do the same for my controller that is still OK.

Not great, the ps3 controllers were actually a hall effect type effort so they never actually broke.

£70 for bad sticks that will eventually get drift is a shafting no matter how you look at it. For £70 pot sticks shouldn't be a thing, but then you wouldn't have to buy a new controller or buy new sticks at £20 each if you have the edge.

Still haven't purchased the Pro. It's still a available directly from Sony, but I'm waiting till 10th October on the (very small chance) that launch day retailers have a better deal. I don't even know which retailers will have it, but I doubt it will be sold out instantly, so no rush. If the price is the same I may still just get it from a bricks and mortar shop, just for convenience in case of any issues.

In the meantime I think the standard slim has dropped in price (on a few websites) from €449 to €399 , making the Pro literally double the price at €799 :D

I'm gonna sell the OG PS4, fingers crossed, for around 300-350.

That’s my plan. Wait until the 10th. Then I can drop in a pre-order somewhere that doesn’t take payment in advance.

That way I’ve until the 22nd November to decide if I still want to buy the system or just stick with my regular ps5.

I think you mean OG PS5 :)

I was going to wait until the 10th as well but just went with Direct. Never ordered from them before so I’ll see how it goes.

To be fair - and I didn’t know this until I pre-ordered from Direct - they only take payment on dispatch so all good (fingers crossed).

Mine, that now has developed stick drift, was £39 last November. Not sure why they've nearly doubled in price.
I returned one to Sony for stick drift and got a replacement, although it took about 6 weeks. It was about 10 months old.

I have had another that got drift really quickly but I left it too long to do anything about. This second one though, I wasn't having it. It was a black one that I got on release day too so they couldn't argue about the purchase date etc.

Just to say, I've had about 5 which are all fine. One is a launch day one from years ago.
