Just cancelled my Pro pre-order. Something just feels wrong about the whole thing. No disc drive meaning its effectively a slightly more powerful version of the OG digital console but double the price. I can't get my head around that. I'm also one of those people that once I'm into a game my brain switches off to how nice it looks, or how smooth it might be, so any minor enhancements are likely going to be lost on me.

Does anyone know what time retail pre-orders for the ps5 pro will go live tomorrow?

I’m hoping there might be some 30th anniversary edition hardware available at the same time?

0 chance for the 30th bundle.

I went to a big chain media store earlier and they said preorders open when the shop opens at 9am, albeit that's in Spain. I doubt there will be any queue, there weren't even any posters advertising it.

I’m thinking about cancelling my preorder, I’m not sure if I’ll even notice the improvements. I blame Digital Foundry, if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have preordered. I’m obviously an easy sell.
I’ve just finished Dead Island 2 on Series X and thought that game looked great and ran fine, I don’t really have any complaints about how games run and play on my OG PS5, the last game that bugged me on PS5 was Cyberpunk which stuttered in a few places but looked great.

Good for you, you're just funding the inevitable price drop on these in a few months by early adopting anyway. And as you say, minor enhancements if the promo video was anything to go by.

I don't think the Pro is needed. The regular PS5 is still pretty powerful.

I went with very - they package items up better.

Really? Nothing to do with installments and deferred payments?

Edit re your edit below. Wasn't suggesting that, just that I thought that was the main draw for that particular retailer, especially as they charge postage which others do not.
