In the end I didn't see any discounts or bundles in Spain. Just the same price as PS Direct and 1 place had it bundled with a disc drive.

Seeing as the price is the same, I just reserved it from a electronics chain not far from me. Had to pay a 20% deposit. Just need to pop by on the 7th after work and pay the balance and take it home. I was only the 2nd person to preorder it in that branch of the chain. No faffing around with deliveries and easy to return in case of issues.

Edit: Need to flog my normal PS5 disc version before the 7th :D

The PS5 and the Switch are the only things I use (no PC) so for me this is a nice upgrade.

Likewise regarding the Switch/PS5 so it should be an easy sell on Sony's part to get me to buy into the console. I keep mulling over ordering one but I'm struggling with the fact that there's still very little footage showing games taking advantage of it. That and I'm still living in hope that Sony might release a non-limited 30th Anniversary edition of the PS5 Pro!

Plus there's likely to be a new switch out early next year which makes me wonder if I'm being bit indulgent buying a PS5 Pro just now and the Switch 2 in 6 months time.....

Yeah I’m thinking about the Switch 2 as well. I want it but we will see. I’m probably 80/20 in terms of PS5/Switch so I have to go for that first. Prefer playing on the tv but the switch suits when I want it (travelling etc).

Wish I could flog mine although the Pro is replacing my PS5 in my small loft gaming room and I've promised my near 5 year old the PS5 she plays Astrobot on will go downstairs in the family room, unfortunately (and what I didn't appreciate at the time) 4 year olds remember stuff!

What's the basic procedure when getting rid of a PS5?
I was planning sign out, wipe storage and reset the OS.

Iirc in the PS4 days there was some convoluted deregistering or deauthorizing your console as well, possibly on a webpage?

I'm hoping I can get €370-400 for a PS5 disc drive edition with last of us part 1 remastered and a 1tb SSD upgrade. Maybe half the cost of the PS5 pro!

There is a factory reset option somewhere right? makes sense to just use that I doubt you'd need anything else.
Yep.

But the device also shows linked to my account here. I will wipe it from the webpage as well, to be certain. I'm sure in the PS4 (or maybe even ps3!) days it was a necessary step.

Edit: I found the official page, although it's still abit unclear what it all means!

Switched my pro pre order from PS Direct to John Lewis. The 2 year guarantee and hopefully better customer service sealed it. Plus 4 months 0% interest paypal credit made it a bit easier to swallow!

I did not know that. Seems pretty straight forward. I will deactivate and then factory reset it before I box it up.

Yeah just reset the console fully, and in the ps app you can go to settings and account and deauthorize any consoles still listed, also in the same area is an option to sign out of all devices, think the latter things are just for peace of mind.

I'm thinking about doing the same, the 2 year warranty is a nice incentive.

Someone in the ps plus thread bought PS5 slim for 340 from Argos.

Surely that's the lowest price ever?!?!

For the digital? It's that price in most retailers atm

Hmm seems a lot of people are jumping onto the Pro bandwagon.
Is there a great deal of difference?

To people who feel the need to justify their purchase it will no doubt be a huge difference. Everyone else, probably not.
