This is why it often pays to wait, £560 for a pro is much more stomach-able.

Very are brilliant for this sort of thing, I've saved a fortune on electrical goods through them over the years and they've always fulfilled the order, even when a 50% code that shouldn't have worked did.

Not really. I mean no retailer is offering the PS5 Pro at a discount.

This Very deal has probably been available since the day the Pro was released for preorder. Just no one noticed apart from @ChocAndGray :D

Yes really, unless you’re telling me you’d rather pay full price and it wasn’t available otherwise it would have been all over hotukdeals.

If I was in the UK I would be cancelling any online order i had and changing to Very! I don't think they existed when I lived in the UK, but even if I had an account, how hard would it be to create a second one?

Even though it's a retailers discount/workaround we aren't gonna see the Pro at that price till at least 2026 imo!

@ChocAndGray deserves a huge shout-out and thanks! I'm still confused about the air fryer though.

Thanks.

The reason you can’t create a second account is because the 20% offer is on a credit order. And very wouldn’t allow one person to have more than one credit account.

So you can’t sign up, claim 20% and pay on a debit card. It needs to be using their finance. Obviously there’s nothing stopping you from immediately paying the credit order off.

With it being buy now pay later over 12 months I’m in no rush to pay, although it will be paid off before that point as they charge a whopping 44.9% apr which would wipe out the discount I got

The only other option I can think of would be if a partner, family member etc was willing to open an account on someone’s behalf. But that would mean a credit check etc.

Air fryer was just to squeeze something else in for the 20% discount. It was off the entire first order. Looking back I should have added a mobile phone in there too as I want a pixel 9!

It is just a generic offer code. I think the reason it might not have been posted is the offer does state that it excludes ps5 consoles, as well as iPhone 16 etc (so all the hot sellers).

The other weird thing is it explicitly states it’s only 10% off consoles, yet it gave me 20%.

I wasn’t really expecting it to work but had nothing to lose.

I’m wondering whether it’s a glitch in their systems and the code doesn’t recognise the pro as a console.

Funnily enough it wouldn’t work on a normal ps5.

I know what it is, but there was a pre-order post for Very on hotukdeals a week ago and people must have tried it then to no avail, otherwise it would have been all over the comments. They've quietly allowed it to work in the last day or so.

Makes sense, I didn't think about the credit side and the checks against your name. Not everyone can pass these checks.

By my quick maths within 7 months you would lose your savings at that interest rate unless you paid off the balance.

I'm sure the air fryer is great and you need it. I was just having a bit of fun, as you said, a high ticket item like a phone is what I would have gone with!

Anyway. Congrats again. Great find.

Bold part is interesting. I signed up to the credit card but paid using my Halifax Clarity card.

He actually wanted to get 20% off the airfryer and he grabbed the Pro while he was at it:p

EDIT: In all seriousness, I really hope they'll go through with it because this is a great price.

Ah ok. That makes sense.

I did take a look on there and the only thing I saw was a £30 back offer on the pro.

As you say normally hotukdeals are all over every discount.

I blame Jim Ryan for not letting me have a PS5 Pro with a side helping of air-fried chips. Last console I'm going to purchase from Playstation Direct .... ever ! :D

The whole thing seems unusual. As it’s normally only on orders added to the credit account, and it should only be 10% off a console.

Like yourself I’ve received an order email confirmation, and I’m not sure what very are like in terms of cancelling orders after the fact, if someone’s benefitted from a glitch.

I’ve cancelled my order at the other retailer now, but I’m confident that if very fails I should be able to walk into Argos on release and buy one.

I thought Very had the PS5 Pro on pre order for ages (since the other retailers got it).

As he said it's a generic code. Is it not possible ChocAndGray was just the first one to take a punt and try it? I mean most of those people on HUKD probably already have Very accounts from using previous offers so would not have thought about the new customer welcome order, or even have been eligible.

Anyway, I like to think one of our very own forum members found it. He who dares wins!

Aye. The transaction for the amount has been taken from my Halifax account and the order page states "Order placed - delivery on Thursday". Fingers crossed.

You won. Don't overthink it!

Highly unlikely considering it's a new console and the number of people on there who spend hours every day trying codes and looking for deals.

Even if they did have accounts, it would have been highlighted in the comments section for those who didn't or who could have a partner etc set up an account. It even says in the terms and conditions that it doesn't apply to PS5 consoles, and I've used Very enough to know that they tacitly allow codes to work on things that they wouldn't initially. I did exactly same thing with a flagship Samsung soundbar system from them, using a code that all of a sudden just worked one day despite the terms still stating the product should have been excluded.

My post wasn't an attempt to discredit Choc either, it was in response to your "not really, it would have worked from the start".

I got my first PlayStation 5 free from Very won't get a bigger discount than that.

Also relevant to the general convo. If the price of the pro started with a five then I would have absolutely got one just to occasionally play some of the many games I accumulated over the years. I was about to hop on a digital offer the other day where the price started with a 2 but unfortunately I didn't have the code on offer.
Need to play Astrobot,. I'm not exaggerating when I say the free one that came with the PS5 was probably the best game I played on it I think overall. And that's not to disparage any of the other great games on the system.
