Received my PS5 Pro yesterday, having traded my old 2022 OG PS5 into CeX (which was painless). My experience fwiw:
- It isn't silent. Cannot be heard on dash like my OG PS5. However on PS5 games it seems quieter, but on PS4 games a tad louder. All very comparable though.
- Feels cheaper. Whether it's the thinner plates, the small clear feet, or the way the thing can rock if you press it on the front-left all give the feeling of a cheaper console than the OG PS5.
- Transfer was pretty painless although I did everything manually. So simply transferred the SN850X NVMe and WD_D30 external SSD. All recognised and didn't get the rebuilding database message. Did make me realise how many settings I'd changed though as I had to spend a few minutes re-configuring everything.
- Tried a few games. TLOU2 Remastered was always a stunning game, even in its original PS4 version, but seeing the new PRO mode it's hard not to be blown away. Spider-Man remastered felt less of an upgrade.
- Tried Dragon Age: Inquisition and could immediately notice the new sharpening mode for PS4 games. Even though it's subtle it can be seen, particularly on the UI and text. I think there's confusion about this feature and how it isn't effecting certain PS4 games. Imagine it works well with 2D games.
- Also tested with the Sound Blaster GC7 where the PS5 automatically picked it up over USB and noticed the volume was at the same level as optical (how I normally run it). I need to test some more as I doubt the PS5 Pro has changed the UAC 1.x behaviour but I also remember the GC7 not being as loud over USB.
