entirely subjective but I have a group of about a dozen friends who regularly game on PlayStation and none of them have bought a ps5 pro.

Half of them said it’s more than they want to spend and doesn’t offer enough above the pa5 for the price. The other half didn’t even know it existed until I mentioned it!

Make of that what you will!

Noticing similar price drops on a few other retailers now. Profit margins on console hardware usually aren't enough that any retailer can afford a £40 cut of their own accord so there must be some element of support from Sony with this. Odd timing though in any case so close to the initial release date, rather than waiting till Black Friday is in full swing.

Not sure there's much to read here, retailers have stock of the Pro and want to shift them to make space so offer a small discount to get them off the shelves/out of the warehouse, they won't be selling them at a loss.

So i take it Sony are going to support the PS5 Pro more not like they did with the PS4 Pro ?

How did Sony not support the ps4 pro? There were plenty pro enhanced games.

Its difficult to answer your question because it makes no sense

The one good thing for PS gamers is Sony have announced from 2025 onwards they'll have at least 1 AAA Sony exclusive single player story game coming out every year, the live service experiment is dead and Sony is moving back to supporting single player

That means at least 1 game a year from Sony that will take full advantage of the PS5 Pro. Everything else is so so, always remember multiplatform games have to run on the Xbox Series S, which is 4 times slower than a PS5 Pro and so these games on the PS5 Pro will always be limited by game design restrictions due to the Xbox

Even with Black Friday and Christmas product lines incoming there would be no reason to clear stock of a brand new release. Retailer margins are razor thin on consoles even for a company with buying power like Argos so a 6% discount is significant and rather unprecedented. Either they're happy to take the cut in order to drive traffic (the Argos deal has been at the top of the HotUKDeals homepage since yesterday) and/or they've privately negotiated a favourable discount.

Currently really enjoying F1 24, Horizon ZD Remastered and The Finals on the Pro.

F1 looks incredible in the new resolution mode, genuinely didn’t think the RT additions would make such an improvement but racing at night or in the rain really show it off constantly throughout a race. Some cars (McLaren, RB) are incredible to race alongside because of it.

Horizon looks fantastic, but I think I’m enjoying this mainly because it’s great to play one of my favourite games of all time again. Obviously stunning visuals but it also doesn’t exactly look shabby on the base PS5!

The Finals is noted as Pro Enhanced but there’s been nothing to suggest what has changed… I’m assuming the game runs with dynamic res cos it looks a lot better on the Pro and consistently better too but hopefully it gets a patch or info shared soon.

I think TLOU Part 1 will be what I play once I finish Horizon, I’ve not actually played it since the remaster on PS4 so almost 8 years for me now.

BO6 now runs the 60fps mode with unlocked fps if anyone is interested. Gets about 80-100fps on vrr screens. I'm enjoying the hard locked 120fps mode tbh.
