Bit miffed at the price drops at certain retailers for BF.. It would be nice if Sony gave people a game or store credit as a thanks for purchasing at release but cant see it happening. Oh well.
If Sony had any sense; they should offered at least a month of PS plus extra/premium with every console sold to a) showcase the thing and b) entice new customers into buying longer memberships.

I've been digital for a long time, with PC gaming it's pretty much the default now with Steam games etc. But I use my PS5 as a media station as well so need the disc drive for 4K Blu Ray's, the same as I used my PS4 for films, I've probably watched more films on my PS5 than I've played games.

PS5 Pro is the first digital only product I've ever bought and in fairness I do own very few actual disks for the PS5 and zero for the SX. BUT I can see frustrations when it comes to digitally owned content and in particular when content could be subscription locked. Case in point. I owned the Witcher 3 digitally and had updated to the free PS5 next-gen update but I'm now unable to play it till I re-subscribe to plus (currently a little grey lock icon in the game tiles is shown).

e: I'm an idiot, I had previously purchased Witcher 3 via a US account, it launches fine under my US account but not playable under my UK one (where I played it and had my saves!) That's a new behaviour!

However, interestingly, I can launch the PS4 version of GoT, previously installed via disk without the actual need for the disc (no drive).

After the patch Alan wake 2 is not the best showing for the system - performance in this game puts the ps5 pro on par with an 2080ti. If you grab the 4070(same price as the pro), then it runs 50% faster than the ps5 pro, or you can turn the ray tracing to 11. The pssr implementation is also poor and looks bad next to dlss in this game

Whether it's the system, engine or laziness from the developers, the end result is that the ps5 pro doesn't seem to play nicely with Alan wake 2 and the end result leaves much to be desired

AW2 is a poor showing. PSSR doesn't play too well with everything either, unfortunately.

Hoped for a more stable image considering it runs at a worse framerate than base PS5 now.

I read this earlier by chance and there certainly seems to be something up with that game on this system.
It's going to be interesting to see just how well non first party games perform above the cherry-picked examples.

Thought about it. But that’s why they waited until day 8 from the preorder folks to discount.
That makes it worse, if it was a few weeks fine, but if there is a 7 day period and they did it on day 8 it could not be more knowingly umdersold. I would kick off with head office just out of principal.
