Ok thanks, you're right I assumed it would be like game pass with all the first party titles

Surely the chances of losing the saves locally is extremely small though, I only really play one game at a time too

Now I'm wondering if it's worth subscribing just to play TLOU and then cancel, it works out cheaper than buying it!

Sorry quick question for a PS noob please

If I don't subscribe, saves are just local? What's the issue with this or the advantage of cloud saves?

I'm trying to decide if I want to stick to buying and selling disc copies of games or just subscribe to Extra but Extra seems to be missing TLOU part 2 for some reason

Edit - in fact it's missing from premium as is god of war Ragnarok, kind of confusing I expected they would be on there
You can technically backup your saves onto external storage but it's a hassle and you have to do it manually. There are BF discounts right now, so if you're going to sub, do it now. Also if you sub before Tuesday you can claim this months essential games.

Chances are low but if I was 90 hours into some game and the console died I know I'd cry a little... I dont have PS Plus myself at the moment and the cloud saves are the main reason I'd subscribe.

The monthly games on essential are usually pretty poor, and if I'm paying that I may as well pay a little more and get extra, which is exactly what Sony wants :)

I think you can pay for PS Plus with PSN vouchers which you might get a deal on, and with the black Friday offers on the sub itself you can get a better deal.

Actually here's the details:

Extra: £66.84
Premium: £75.84

Thanks for this makes it worth subscribing but I seemingly can't add the £70 PS store credit to the basket or create an account there doesn't seem to be an option to either

I don't have plus, I just use system back to make sure my saves are safe. You can select only saves, so it's not very big. It's all or nothing, you can't pick individual saves, same for restoring, but it's perfectly fine if all you care about is not losing saves if the console dies and you just make sure to do it every so often. I'd rather do that, than be strong-armed into ps+ by Sony.

GT7 update just came out and has very good PSSR

Avatar update just came out and terrible PSSR

The trend continues, Sony first party games have good PSSR and 3rd parties have terrible PSSR

Do these firms not actually test their games before releasing the patches?

It's like SH2, as I understand it right from the start of the game it looks janky, not like it's only something which becomes apparent far into the game so maybe it slipped through.

I'm slightly annoyed that there is nothing for me as a current premium subscriber. I'll have to wait until Oct 2025 for it to expire and then wait in hope for next years deals. Thinking about it again, I am actually a medium amount annoyed lol.
I only signed up to PSN 7th November so I had games to play on the Pro, can't get any of the current cheap deals due to subscription and it'll expire after the deals have finished. Going to have to do without PSN until New Year and hope there are deals then :(
