I just meant that you'd expect a 4090 to be better, but there's a large price premium. Bit like comparing a M2 to an M5, both good, but ones quite a bit more powerful (and expensive due to that).

Oh no not at all. Apologies if it came across that way, also a MASSIVE peeve of mine where PC ppl get smug like "well my £1000 GPU works better than your £450 console", omitting all the other costs involved. I am under no illusions I am perfectly content with the PS5, it's amazing. Just go through this cycle every few years of building an expensive pc and then playing 20 year old games on it.

Me too.

The retort is simply "Build me a complete PC including controller for the same price as a PS5 capable of running games in the same settings, such as Cyberpunk or for the XboxSX, MS Simulator"

They can't.

I play a mix. I'm currently on bf2042 on pc, but recently went through several early 2000's trek games. I am torn though, as I want a 3p80 to replace my 1080, but then for games like forbidden West I wouldn't know which to get them on. I played the first one on my ps4 Pro and I thought it looked fantastic, not that many ps4 games didn't look good. I think we are at the point of diminishing returns, to me the jump from ps3 to ps4 was much greater (graphically at least) than ps4 to ps5. After that slight detour, consoles offer a massive amount for the (relatively) cheap entry point. To get the performance of a ps5/xbox series x, I reckon you'd have to spend close to a grand on parts (I'm thinking an entire pc less monitor).
 
I really don’t like playing at 30 on my tv. Didn’t used to care but now we’re at 60 on most things I really find it difficult to go back. Maybe whoever is making Gotham knights should go have a chat with Insomniac to find out how it’s done. I don’t know anything about the game though. What is it? Open world?

First no batman and now locked to 30fps - this game is not going to sell well. I'm voting with my wallet and not buying it - if they later add a 60fps option I may jump in.
