just an FYI, I bought a PS5 in store in Spain 2 weeks ago and it is CFI 1216A. The shop told me all he stock they have now arrived new in the last few weeks (indeed before this they weren't physically in stores since their original release!). Here quite a few online retailers refer to it as "Chasis C", so that way you know you are getting the newer ones. AFAIK All the ones in Europe that have the God of War box/bundle are also the newest Chasis.
Whilst I didn't really have much choice, I know the newer models are quieter than some older ones, and that was quite important to me.

My wife came back from town today with a used copy of God of War Ragnarog for me, which was an amazing surprise. I've installed and tested it and played for about an hour - it seems great so far. I'm doing very well this month as I snagged Tiny Tina on vinted for £15 on ps5 and managed to grab a used copy of Wild Hearts for xbsx yesterday on the bay for £42. That's me good for a couple of thousand hours along with Woolong's release on gp.
Wo Long looks great keeping my eye on it. You got some nice deals there TT and Ragnarok are both on my radar.
Have you played God of War (2018)? I picked up my PS5 2 weeks ago and started on Ragnorok but my mate was horrified that I had done so without playing the previous version so I'm now doing that and glad I did - the story is fantastic and it looks great as well and I expect even more from the latest version. I'm nearly at the end and I can't wait to play Ragnorok. My kids have been playing Spiderman and between us, I don't think we've played anything else yet!
It was added to PS Plus on the 21st Feb along with a load of other games.

.Don't worry I have played all the god of war series other than the psp games. Ragnorok does have a story recap option to watch from the main menu if you just wanted to dive straight in.
Thankfully it only occasionally spins like that - usually when installing, or first 'scanning' the disc - then it settles down; I don't notice any noise when playing
Yeah it seems to have settled down. Was loud again earlier today for probably about 10 minutes during play but then never made another noise.
Started the game again and was loud for maybe 30 seconds. Glad it wasn't some kind of fault

It’s not. The disc drive is loud.
I don’t use it personally. I buy games digital, as I cannot deal with disc swapping. My ps5 is silent unless I use a disc. (Like your experience)
The drive is loud as hell so no worries. I thought mine was about to take off back when I bought it.

Also some have cool whine and depending on what performance mode you use in game it can be either quieter or slightly louder, especially with PS5 games.
Mind you mine seemed to suffer from coil whine,but has settled down over time.

Ok I caved. Bought another ps5 to go with the Xbox series x… I can’t believe atomic heart, warzone 2, Harry Potter run at more stable frames than the Xbox so something is really going wrong developing games for the Xbox.
