Ok I caved. Bought another ps5 to go with the Xbox series x… I can’t believe atomic heart, warzone 2, Harry Potter run at more stable frames than the Xbox so something is really going wrong developing games for the Xbox.

That’s laughable
By default multi-plat's will probably run better on the PS5 has it as higher clock speeds. Series X is the more powerful on paper but with it's pretty small market share multi-plats are not going to be tailored to the platform.

It's probably also due to the virtual environment Xbox games run in. This ensures 100% compatibility with future consoles, which is where PlayStation comes a little unstuck.

My duel sense edge comes today. Can't wait.

Been waiting for first party pro pad for years.

The normal duelsense seems to be prone to stick drift.

Had had two pads develope it already. Never really noticed it on any of my ps4 pads.

Whatever the case is just isn’t good enough tbh. I have both Xbox series x and ps5, on ps5 more and more

Thinking about picking up a ps5.
I hear they did a revised version. CFI 1200, lighter, 6nm less watts etc.
How am I supposed to know which version I'll get. None of the retailer's state this.
Or is it not worth worrying about
The God of War bundle ones are all CFI 1216 I believe. Mine was when I caved and bought a Digital one, I received it yesterday (it says what it is on the box and on the base of the console).

It is dead silent at idle and while playing Astro's Playroom it's very quiet indeed, I am impressed given I am very particular about having a quiet PC.

It seems Mark Cerny wasn't wrong to say that a slower, wider graphics architecture can be more difficult to get performing at its best than a faster, narrower one.

I got a disc version stand-alone and it was the new model again very quiet at idle like every other ps5 coil whine is there still being picky but it’s a lot quieter than the older ps5s coil whine

Bit embarrassing for team Xbox I’m no fan boy have them both but it’s a struggle to understand why it’s under performing head to head with the ps5 at the very least should be performing on par on every game that’s released on both platforms

I haven't noticed coil whine on mine, but high end GPUs are notorious for it so perhaps I'm used to it.

Am I right in thinking that on the DS Edge, you can map certain combos of buttons so Hogwarts Legacy, for example, could have many more spells mapped to buttons rather than just the standard 4?

I think it’s an issue with PS5 pads in general. I had 3 within a year of launch that developed stick drift.

I also never had an issue with my PS4 pads. Maybe I got lucky but I just can’t bring myself to put three PS5 pads down to bad luck, particularly with all the other people also having issues.

I suspect that the Edge will also be susceptible and Sony know it, hence the replaceable stick units. Fully replaceable units seems like a very odd thing to do, unless of course, you know it’s a likely failure point. The design choice tells me that Sony know they have a problem.

What do you think so far? I'm in two minds right now, it's made me worst at COD, if that was even possible, think I need more time to adjust, though, I've been playing with the sensitivity/deadzones, although copying settings online, my aim is all over the shop. I've always used the top buttons for aim/shoot so the trigger deadzones I barely take advantage of.

I'm unsure how much benefit the paddles will bring to my game besides FPS. I was really hoping you could could create a combo of buttons so Hogwarts Legacy for example I would have more spells at my disposable as it's a PITA pressing R2 and finding your other spells.

The overall feel and build quality is really nice though, like you said it's nice knowing I can fix stick drift should it come. My original pad lasted 3 years before developing it.

The thing pays for half of PSVR2 just about, I'm thinking that might be the better purchase.

I will probably use the back buttons to do things that usually use the L3 and R3, outside of FPS games.

Love it. Just repeating what you said it's just feels quality.

Just going to speak from my experience with the Elite game pads.

In some games I noticed instant improvement.

Destiny was the biggest were a lot of Jumping and special moves were required. In air movement etc.

CoD is strange one. There's quite a bit more getting used to on the pad before you start to see an improvement in your game.

A big dip before a higher celling is reached.

On this pad I'm still forgetting the paddles are there.

The different hight sticks can make a huge difference also.

Back buttons are usually for jump and slide only tbh on cod. If you play a lot of fps games might be worth picking one up, for me although I do play cod and apex I have a layout on the standard controller which to me works very well bumper jumper tactical flipped on cod :) you can also do similar layout on apex.

If your aim is all over the place I would go back to basics set your controller providing you have the new edge to default set back buttons to jump and slide. Go into cod default button layout set sensitivity to 4,4 ads speed to 0.8 . Black ops 4 and dynamic for aim settings and stick with that
