I'm happy with 60fps and upscaled 4k but I want graphics technology to move on.
With ue5 going to be coming in, I think ps5 games will be back down to 30fps, that would make a pro version viable to me to get 60fps back at upscaled 4k.

There won't be one this generation due to costs sky rocketing.
Indeed. Hopefully with the next PlayStation (especially with cerny designing and heading r&d) they’ll hit 60 with every game from now on.

I also don't feel like I need more than 60fps in anything, it's just smooth enough for me, just make every game run at that framerate and I'm set:p

Ideally, I'd be happy with solid RT at 60fps even with upscaled res, PS6 maybe.
While RT is nice and all, it’s not a deal breaker. And if a game was to forgo this feature to hit a stable 60, I don’t think it would be missed.

Edit - personally. Of course others may feel different. But I think RT for me is take it or leave it. I’m not too bothered by it.

Well, yeah, I'm talking about RT at 60fps, otherwise - no thanks.
But TBH, proper RT makes a bigger visual difference than native 4k so that at 60fps with upscaled res would be a nice compromise. I tend to notice such things before slightly blurrier image but that's just me maybe.

I'm talking RTGI and RTAO since I tried CP on PC with those and it's a big difference, proper RT is not just some shadows or shiny surfaces. CP on consoles only does RT shadows and that's absolutely nor worth it.

Still, without 60fps, no dice.

A less well documented new feature of the newest update is that if you have a physical version of a game installed and then the game comes to Plus or you buy a digital version of it you no longer have to delete the physical version installed on the console and download the digital one to play discless.

Yeah, that's a great feature. I had to delete and redownload three games when I subscribed to Extra, it's nice you don't have to do that anymore.

I've read the ps5 is anywhere from a 3069 to a 3079ti in terms of power (which is quite a large spread lol). I tried forbidden west on the fidelity option which I assume was 3pfps, and it straight away felt like treacle so had to go for the other option. Even on my 6 year old lcd it didn't feel smooth, I'd take 120 fps at 1080 over 4k as its a more realistic target.

That was so annoying.

Just ordered 2TB M.2 also :)

Am I imagining it or did today's update add a little clock icon with total playtime on the main menu, when you hover over each game?!?!?!

Even seems to show for games played on PS4 and PS5 combined.
RDR2 142 hours!!!

This is new and not something I’ve noticed. Good spot will check it out later.

Play it at 60? I’m sure it has that option ?

It seems deserving of its own thread!

Edit: even works with games in your library and not installed on the console.

All carried over from PS4:
BLOPS3 445h!
Modern Warfare 386h
Infinite Warfare 219h
Bloodborne 242h
FF15 233h
HZD 83h

Does anyone have the warriors? It’s in the retro sale and one I missed on the PS2, but I’m seeing reports on Reddit that it’s borked on PS5

I recently built a monster pc but I’m starting to miss having a console.

I honestly spend more time tweaking stuff than playing games….

Anyone moved from PC to PS5?

I moved away from PC many years ago due to working with computers all day in my job and was burned out with continuing this at home and also starting a family and simply not having the time to tweak and tinker with PCs, which in all honesty I fell out of love with. I now have PS5, XBOX Series S and Switch. Absolutely no regrets. PS4 was a big turning point for me.

I use both for different reasons but find that I play 75% of my games on my PS5 now compared to my PC. Sometimes it's nice after the stress of work to just fire up the PS5 and be able to play a game right away.

I still really like the tweaking and tinkering - and I actually think I prefer building PCs than using PCs... So I tend to play most of my games on PS5 and then any game that I think will play better on PC (Football Manager, F1 Manager etc.) I typically will use my PC!

I moved from being a PC gamer to console only years ago for similar reasons. I used to end up constantly spending money upgrading my pc just to chase high settings and FPS and then not actually play the games as much. As my overall gaming time was dropping anyway I decided to just stick to a console and spend the time actually playing games when I had the time to do so

Yup! I buy top of the range pc probably 3 times now spent silly money on them keep for few months sell it all lose money and go back to console. I have a xbox series x and ps5 now, spend all my gaming time on the ps5 haven’t touched the Xbox since I got the ps5

I have both but it kind of depends on the type of game. Hogwarts as an example is a game that I fell much more comfortable using a controller with*. However, I could not get over the bad graphics and framerate on the PS5 and so got it on PC instead (with controller).
But there are plenty of games. I'd much just rather play on the PS5 and do especially indie titles.

*Primary reason was PS5 In a different room and I thought I would appreciate the game more on my TV.
