I haven't been a PC gamer since I've had an office job so 20 years or so. I couldn't face sitting at a desk playing games at computer on the weekend or evening after sitting at a different desk in front of another computer all day. I don't even have a PC in the household these days.

I recently built a monster pc but I’m starting to miss having a console.

I honestly spend more time tweaking stuff than playing games….

Anyone moved from PC to PS5?
In addition to a PC, not instead of. So far I am very impressed, the PS5 is almost silent and the first party games (what I bought it for) run pretty much flawlessly in their performance modes with VRR and HDR and look amazing. The texture work in particular looks incredible and I'm surprised that to me it seems a cut above what we get on PC even with the highest end hardware (I am referring specifically to Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok).

He literally just said he doesn’t like the pc as much, due to farting around with graphics settings as opposed to actually playing the game :p
As a multi platform gamer I agree its annoying. I need the extra thing though as my daughter likes roblox on the pc, my son likes plants vs zombies on the ps5 and I get relegated to the switch .

I have a laptop for strategy games like Civ and everything else is consoles. I'm not bothered anymore about slightly better graphics or running a bit better on PC I gave up on PC gaming a while back now and have no regrets. As mentioned I spent more time fiddling, adjusting settings and watching afterburner than playing the games. I still enjoy watching videos about the latest hardware and reading here but it's just not for me anymore. The PS5 and Series X covers everything I need.

My PC is an old heavily overclocked i7 from 2011 that still runs well today. I still use it for Steam/Division2 gaming but I have more or less completely slowed down - mainly because I just can't stand the telemetry bloat that Windows has become. I'll be moving to OSX and an M2 MacMini soon as my requirements are simple. PS5 for solid, reliable 1440p gaming and OSX for browsing/email/work stuffs.

I will miss modding games on the PC I must admit.

I was a PC gamer for the 20 years prior to 2014. At the beginning of 2014 I built a rig that set me back a lot of money.

By around October 2014 I had purchased a PS4 from an OCUK member.

I have pretty much gamed exclusively on console ever since. I have a gaming laptop that I bought a few years ago and played CoD modern warfare and Cold War on it, in between playing the same games on my consoles also. But since Cold War, I haven’t touched the laptop for gaming.

I don’t have any regrets. Bang for buck consoles are brilliant value for money. The current gen consoles do a great job for the money. Sure, PC gaming is the pinnacle of tech etc, but the obscene prices for GPU’s and low availability makes me wonder why people bother. Likewise the amount of time spent troubleshooting and tweaking eats into game time.

It’s taken me nearly ten years to rewire my brain to be anything like half decent using a controller though! I get by but I doubt I will ever match my ability on mouse and keyboard.

I’m lucky enough to have both current gen consoles and a reasonably good laptop but I have no inclination to play on my laptop at all.

But like most things, it’s all down to personal preference. I personally like to kick back on my sofa and game on a nice OLED TV these days :)

I’ve been that happy with the ps5 I’m seriously considering selling the Xbox series x any idea what it would be worth? has 2 years unclaimed game pass ultimate and looks brand new I keep it covered over when not in use

I’ve had similar thoughts but I can’t bring myself to do it. I know I’d probably end up regretting it. I’m looking forwards to some planned stuff by Bethesda and I still use my Series X, albeit nowhere near as much as my PS5.

PS5 has stolen the show for me this gen, and now with the updated plus subscriptions it’s even better.

Looks like I’m back to being Jim Ryan’s biatch again as I’ve ordered another PS5. Mainly because the kids are eating all my PC time up playing Halo. So now I need to wean them off that on to Destiny 2 or something.

Nothing to do with the exclusives then.

I see they fixed the flickering issues on assassin’s creed syndicate whilst I was away. That should be a good one to revisit.
