The Official Prometheus (Alien Prequel) Thread

I would have thought most people would have had it by now? its been sub £15 for ages and ages. and given its one of the best bd packages available ud have to be a massive **** to not purchase it (in general)

I haven't really looked at the price of the Blu-Ray boxset until just noticing it, I've had the first two on "Definitive Edition metal tin DVD's" instead, so will have to MM those.

I'm curious if all the people who initially trashed the idea of an Alien Prequel when I first posted this thread 2 and a half years ago have changed their minds at all?!?

Dumb question, but we all seem in agreement that that is a Xenomorph of some type, but is it the top of a Queens Crown/Head? as it appears to trail off somewhat

Trailer looks amazing aswell.

I went there and I thought the sound was a bit poor. It has the biggest screen in the UK apparently and the screen is great. But at the time I thought the sound was very poor in my opinion, it had no depth and was not loud enough. It felt like it was too far away and i did not feel immersed enough. Recently I visited an IMAX in qatar and the sound was amazing, this just reinforced my opinions about the poor qualtiy sound at the BFI imax. i would rather go to an IMAX with a smaller screen but better sound. Of course i would prefer if BFI just improved their sound but i don't think that is going to happen.

I admit I may be wrong about what I said about this not being a true prequel to alien. After seeing the trailer I am thinking that the ship which is heading for earth crash lands on LV426 at the end of the movie. Maybe its the atmosphere of the planet that causes the space jocky to fossilise in 30 years rather than in 100s of years like it normally takes.
I am looking forward to this film. I have read that ridley scott wants to do a sequel to answer all the questions left at the end of this film but if thats the case does that mean that the ship does crash on LV426 and the sequel will be a ship checking out the planet to get attacked by aliens before alien happened or will it be based somewhere else entirely?

Will have to wait and see what happens in this movie first

Has to be a prequel surely, whatever they say. If it set in the same universe as Alien, set before Alien, and has links to Alien, then how can it not be classed as a prequel?

If it was seen as an Alien film, or sold as a prequel to Alien, then I'm sure many people would go in expecting it to be exactly that, an Alien film. Maybe they wanted to distance Prometheus, so it is not seen as an Alien film.
