I don't think you could really make a whole film about how the Alien spaceship (Spacejokey's?) got there and story about them and the Aliens origin without any human protagonist.
I have a bad feeling the Aliens origin is somehow going to involve the 'Predators'.

If you go by Alien folk lore, the space jockeys were infected rather than co-exist. In one of the comic series theres either a flashback, a vision or at least one alive space jockey appears.
Rozzy85 - the extended version of Alien3 is on general release these days. I don't remember why but I watched that version months before it actually got to cinema (one of the school kids friend of a friend was involved in making it so the story went anyway)
Alien resurection was a rip off of a comic storyline but the comic happened immediately after Aliens so newt and Dwayne (Dwayne FFS
) are alive. Similar to AvP was a rip off of a comic (Or at least heavily borrowed from) with a dark skinned human woman teaming up with a Pred and being branded for being "quite hard" by the Preds.
I love all the films but Reqiuem is hard to love.

good or bad i'll go see it, would be rude not to.
The avp movies were terrible, especially the 2nd but i still went to see them. Although dire their were good bits and i never bore of seeing little pink aliens burst out of ppl's chests.
If they can re-create some of the ambience of the first 2 movies however it will be awesome, i'd love to see a prequel that ties into the first movie with no predator whoreage.

Just not updated yet, it'll change soon enough...however I have some doubts creeping up on me now. Jon Spaihts who is writing it also wrote passengers, that was utter crap

I have all the Robocop verses Terminator comics in my loft, all sealed up.
I also have all the Alien Vs predator ones as well.
I am very sad.

I want to get excited but I just can't.
I am a massive fan of Alien and Aliens and have the spin off graphic novels ( My mother threw out the original comics I bought as a kid ..... grrrr ) and the first Alien is the best suspense horror I have ever seen.
Ridley Scott is a genius director and more and I love his work but I can't see anything beating the 1979 original.

They're not worth as much as you might think, only the first run of dark horse's alien series collected in book one is worth anything, it has to be a first printing as well...valued around £30 iirc

liking the sig. The sulaco always reminded me of one of my early loves, Mk 1 VW Scirocco. Oh and it kinda looked like a scaled up space marines assualt rifle.

just heard about this on the news, excellent stuff. but please, no predators and dont bring ripley back.
Wouldn't say sad! I love me some comic collecting!
Part of me is trying not to measure this against Alien, and just see what happens, I doubt anything could top it - but it could explore some new ground and really open our eyes. It might be brilliant, just at the other end of the spectrum if you get my meaning.

At the Aliens v Predator comments, those films could have been so much better if theur were aimed at the over 18 market and nit dumbed down to 12A andd 15 like they were.
The first AvP was awful.

It was way ahead of its time and still hasn't aged or looks out of date bearing in mind it's 30 years since it was made.

James Reymar was originally cast as Hicks but pulled out after filming began and Michael Biehn was brought in last minute. Some shots of Hicks from behind in the movie are actually Reymar but it's almost impossible to tell.
