I think so, i assume all the 'Outrage at PS3 more lizors!' threads at the moment are actually the 360 fanboys being worried, it is quite sad tbh.

And tbh McManicMan, up until a month ago i woulda lumped you in with them :p Has your account been hacked hmmmm :D
 
I'm still waiting patiently for mine. I suppose it's only 9am mind you.. I have to satisfy myself with browsing forums and reading everyone else's opinions..

But the latest parcel tracking information has me full of anticipation!

Well I went in early this morning to buy a PS3 from a shop giving student discounts. There was a huge que for the early opening, a total of three people.... a mother with her two kids :rolleyes: They'd pre-ordered anyway. The shop had 20 that weren't pre-ordered and me being the only other person there, got the first non pre-ordered and saved myself £50 :)

Got everything plugged in but the PS3 won't pick up my wireless network :( I try manualy putting the connection name and the security code in and it still won't connect. Putting that code in with their text style system is a pain too.
I know the signal strength to my room isn't great but my 360 and two pc's work fine with it.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get it working?
Am I going to have to resort to setting up a wireless bridge through my pc? I know how to do it with my 360, but it's a pain in the rear having to have the pc on aswell as the console.
 
I would try hooking it up with a cable and getting the latest firmware.
I am sure the improved compatibility with Wireless security in the later revisions. Or even try d/ling it off the ps website.
 
I know this is gonna sound "basic" but have you tried re-booting/powering off and back on, your router?

I had to do this last night.
 
You can't can you? I thought it was a feature in that the menu changes as the time of day, week, month, etc. change.

When I read your post, I thought, DOH!!! thats the kind of thing I keep forgetting to do. But I've tried powering it off and back on and other than make me need to reboot my pc a couple of times, it's not changed anything :(

I'll have to try download the update to my pc and transfer it accross.
 
Try disabling WEP/WPA etc on the router and see if that way you can get a connection, maybe it is that that is stopping you?
 
Well I got it an hour ago, and I've not even played any games yet, but my impression is one of quality.

It looks sleek, shiny and impressive. I have a 360, and in comparison to that it's silent. Very quiet indeed - and I had to put my ear up to the machine to hear a very faint ticking of the hard drive.

It connected to my wireless network without fuss and I've applied the 1.6 update no bother.

The heat out the back is prodigous! I only have an SD telly here, but when I go up to my fiancee's place tonight I'll hook it up to the plasma and see what it can really do..

I'm not a fanboy of any brand, I'll buy whatever is out there if I want to and can afford it. But so far Sony look to have done a good job.

Now I just need to stick a game in.. lol

Even with My amp off (no sound out of the tv) I still cant hear mine from a foot away - its incredible, only the glowing lights and the stuff onscreen tell you its working fully.

It is quite toasty back there isnt it but I guess you could say at least the hot air is being pushed out at a good speed

I have to admit I didnt try wireless - I just nabbed a 5m cable from work lol

Considering the hdmi cable situation, I was surprised to see a 3m cable included (althought too short for my requirements) better than nothing

Same here! Between 08:00 and 18:00 it should arrive.
 
mines here, damm this thing is shiny, lol -all connected up, downloaded and brought lemmings and tekken 5, currenty queing up demo's, gonna pop down town now for some more games

This is just getting annoying now, I downloaded the update (from the US site) and it doesn't recognise that it's on the usb stick.
I go into connection settings/list connections and it actually shows the wireless connection I've manualy put in and half the time it shows, connected and signal strength of around 40%. Half the time it shows not connected though :mad:
