The official Ps3 thread

finally got my Motorola H350 Bluetooth Headset working in Motorstorm, i discovered that my PS3 Nat setting was on 3, after putting the PS3 in the DMZ Zone on my router i got a NAT seting of 2 after testing again and went on Motorstorm, joined a "headset only " lobby and SUCCESS everyone was talking.

As for selling in different countries, it's not too difficult.

Changing power supplies(not to mention the physical plug /power lead) - tv refresh rates plus anything regarding movie region..... I wouldnt say its easy by any means

Europe = Region2.
Powersupplies are all the same with Kettle leads, all you need is the different plug.
TV refresh rates is also a none-issue.

Played on a PS3 for the first time today at the trafford centre. Had a bash on motorstorm, completely put me off buying one for the time being, didn't seem like anything special at all  Wouldn't mind trying RFOM though.

Yea, I'm also wondering about PS1 games for the PS3. There's a couple of games I need to go back to again, like Vagrant Story and FFVII.

Is Final Fantasy VII not being completely remade for the Playstation 3

believe me resistance is nothing special at all it has absolutely nothing new or original to offer in gameplay or graphically and basically robs from every previous fps and sci-fi movie. I bought it with my ps3 at launch and traded it in within 2 weeks and then went back to my 360 and pc.
I'm no newbie gamer either been playing videogames for 30 years and every fps since wolfenstein 3D.

Tried one this weekend as well the F1 game, just came away very underwhelmed, better than the ps2 but it should be, I dont know they should never have done the blue ray thing, both blue ray and hd-dvd seem to be dead anyway but we'll see.

I found the graphics on Motorstorm amazing, I never saw a racing game on any other console come close in terms of the physics of the cars and the graphics, played the demo and I bought it straight away.

I also found the graphics very nice on Resistance, not jaw dropping but not far behind GoW which is my personal fave in terms of graphics.

Yeah Motorstorm does look VERY good. RFoM looks good too but no where near Gears in my opinion.

My fave game on it is F1.

Yeah, the playabilty of F1 is great, especially against guys on here :)

I've missed a trick here then!

Maybe I should read more threads, whats the standard like, I'm pretty pants :p

Well I use the aids!

Theres a big F1 thread in the console section, we organise races theres.

For anyone having problems with wireless networking dropping out on the PS3. I was having this issue at first (using WEP 128bit) but wasn't prepared to leave my network unsecured.
After checking all the settings, I noticed the MTU size on the PS3 did not match the setting on my router (1458 - the optimal setting for BT ADSL), so I corrected this.

I have had no issues with it since and thought I would post it on here, in case other people were having these problems and it might help.

there hasn't been a new and original FPS since HL2 and that was only a fancy physics gun

its definetly not as good looking and polished as GOW but is definetly up there with cod2/3

also i don't actually think ive seen a game on any system run as smooth as this does with so many people and so much happening on screen

i haven't seen any other 40 player FPS games on the next gen consoles either. this is my fav part of RFOM ,

i often play CSS 40 player but its a total laggy mess on most occasions , i was chuffed to bits playing this 40 player with no lag whatsoever and its whats kept me playing

40 does sound impressive, 360 is limited to 16 isnt it?

I saw a demo of rfom and it had all sorts of different guns and methods of attack, does that not qualify as new ?

I disagree, Half-Life 2 was nothing but a showcase for physics, thats all I saw it as and it really disappointed me. It wasn't a bad game but it could (and should) be a lot better.

Personally I thought Call of Duty 2 was superior to Half-Life 2 in terms of gameplay.

However, the last FPS worth an ounce of salt in my opinion is Far Cry on the PC. That's the last time I felt I was playing something that was truly different.
